It is quite a coincidence that she disappeared when things looked as if they weren't going her way, but i'm putting it down to exactly that, coincidence.
 
Susang - the organisers of the UK show, the IHS, have said it will remain on. A lot of people will still attend although I would imagine people will (hopefully) be excessively strict over hygeine and such.

I don't attend shows myself so won't be ablet o say aftrewards if it has directly affected it. some people have said they will not be buying or selling for the next ocuple of months but over here, only a small percentage of the market and keepers are internet based so chances are a lot of people won't have even had any knowledge of this all going on :(

Really? I know as of late this afternoon, Nerys and Rory (her partner) had spoken to the show organisers and all was okay and to be honest, nothing has really changed that would mean it owuldn'tbe on that I can see. Thre has been no confirmation of anything serious as in virus etc to cancel it. Will see can I get hold of Nerys and see though :)

The meet was suggested for next summer. That's a good 7/8 months away - more than a "few months."

None of my reptiles will be there and the suggested meet place is some distance from my residence so I will also probably get washed and changed between the meet and arriving home.
 
Jazz - it is a crying shame that right now on the UK forum, only Lynn seems to be facing people and trying to sort this out. The minimal input from Elle so far has been her boyfriend/husband coming on to tell people they "do not want to meet him"??!!!?!?!?!

I know Lynn has ben going over and over things with Elle as to how the snakes could have all gotten sick - it has been, it seems a mistake that was overlooked by them both until now. Things like this happen - I am honest and open enough to say that I have before used the same tongs to feed m snakes without sterilising between feeds. I have never had an illness or remote scare. It is one of htem things that doens't hit you until afterwards but right now I think people are more angry about the fact they have been, not intentionally, kept int he dark and scared stiff.

I am not having a dig at either Lynn or Elle in any of my posts - I think Lynn was very brave to have gone public with her concerns and she has taken a royal (sorry no pun intended) bashing over all this. It just seems right now on the UK forum, only Lynn is facing the music :( :(
 
Yeah you are right Nerys, this IS a joke. The fact that Casey and YOU have manipulted whatever Lynn told Casey is just sickening.

HOW DO YOU KNOW 100% for sure, absolute fact that was Casey told you was true? And that maybe she got some details mixed up when coaxing Lynn to post the results. The fact of the matter is you two have manipulated Lynn this whole time...

I will now tell EVERYONE exactly what happened.

Shug was at mine for 2 weeks. During which Windsor had an RI and was being treated for it. I AT NO POINT ever offered shug food that Windsor had in his mouth. Windsor was quarantined in a different room of the house. When shug went home, he was fed in the same tub as elysium - WITHOUT knowing he could have possibly contracted from Windsor.

Yeah its my fault, I could have easily passed it on to shug or any of my snakes, but doing it intentially is just ridiculous. And this is what you are claiming Nerys - and that is slander.

Not entirley true. I am dealing with things behind the scenes more. Just because I am not posting a reply to everyone who has said something inflamatory does not mean I have recognised it or addressed it.
 
To be honest it is now all a bit irrelevant who did what and it is pointless arguing about it as it is simply one person's word against another's, and I for one know I am not in a position to comment on who might have done what over the internet.

I think the best we can do now is wait for the results to be posted and simply hold tight and see what happens.
 
Any idea on when the test results are going to come back Elle? I'm prayin for all of ya'll and hopin for the best (negative for proxy!) :)

you should never never never feed a sick animal, then take the mouse it has has in its mouth and spat back out, put it back in the bowl with the other prey items, reheat it, and feed it to another snake

hygiene? 100% ??? yeah come off it! yes we don't know where the RI came from in the first place.. but tbh, if you call the above feeding "my hygiene is 100%" then god alone knows what else is going on in your collection.

Just to clear this up.. Nerys I am truly disgusted with you.. I know i have been an idiot on the other forum at communicating the information in a panicky way without cheking all facts and using information given to me by others when i had NO written PROOF... BUT what you have posted is a total lie... WITH NO PROOF... apart from heresay from a friend of yours whom i spoke to on the phone today.. and at that stage genuinely believed she wanted to help...

casey M on the RFUK forum has been calling me frequently saying she wants to help as her collection of pythons have recently had a very similar issue to this one she had them tested for paramyxovirus.. and also fungal and bacterial infections.. she explained she had spent $1600 to find out what was going on. and told me it was an infectious bacterial mycroplasma.

I then explained that there was a time when Shug my python at both elles and MY house was fed from the same feeding tongs as windsor.

A mouse that Windsor refused was then washed and fed to shug... not excellent practice i agree but neither was excellent pratice employed at my house when shug and my daughters python Elysium were fed in the same TUB.... one after the other.. at this point i had no idea shug was sick...

now yes elle and i can be slated for this.. however i am freely admitting it and hopefully other keepers then can be more aware .. i know most wil already practice fantastic hygiene but peopel need to learn from mistakes.. something at least i can do now... even if that means all this heartache...

I have admitted holes in my feeding regime as has elle.. but to have it twisted and pasted over forums in a manner that surmounts to a total lie is ridiculous.

Nerys and others have slated myself and Elle for not having EXACT written proof and facts when we posted our information intially and yes i have admitted this caused serious issues... yet they are perfectly willing to write whatever they THINK was said ono the phone today without having heard it.





Nerys just to explain when i spoke to casey < today her daughter was being a normal 3 year old ( much like when mine is with me) and shouting and jumping around.. casey on numerous occasions had to say... sorry LYNN what was that you said... It is easy to see why casey may have misheard me or not picked up the exact sentance...

whereas you have went on a nasty crusade... i know which one i would think would produce and deliver the degree of self awareness required to learn from mistakes here...

There has already been one warning issued about the inflammatory posts in this thread and I'm issuing another just for the posts I've read since the previous warning! As I have not read the previous infractions yet, I'm not issuing any suspensions at this time, but any further outbursts like the ones I HAVE read will result in immediate suspension!

I don't care about the "hows" and the "whys" and if ANYONE is to blame! Snakes are ill and at least one is dead. The possibility of a contagious incurable and fatal illness being the cause was the reason I suggested this thread be stickied. It is definitely something that snake owners should at least be made aware of, whether there is a potential outbreak now or not. The UK has a history of being able to fully deal with real or imagined outbreaks of nasty diseases. All I need to do is mention anthrax and mad cow disease to get my point across. Now everybody will just have to have the patience to wait for the lab results. I know it's difficult, but I'm sure you can all handle it in a civil manner from now on.
