I picked this little girl up a couple months ago at a show. The label on the lid said thayeri king. Im not big on kingsnakes so I really didnt pay much attention to it. I just liked the look of it and I think I paid 15 dollars for it. Recently I was wondering what an adult would look like, I was looking it up and couldent find any thayeri like it. All the ones I saw had diffrent coloring more yellow and orange colores. Anyone know if this is a diffrent color morph? Was this little girl labeled wrong ? Thanks

Rick

Sorry about the pics ill get better ones later ....

Labeled wrong. I think its a arizona mountain king or a maybe some sort of milksnake! Either way....send it to me!

My first thought was AZ Mt. King...but now I'm thinking it's something else. Either way, it was probably a steal for $15!

1st thing I though when I saw it was arizona mountain king, and like airenlow said, thats a steal for $15! Kudos!!!

Actually, it could be a thayeri. There is a "milksnake phase" of thayeri that looks very much like that. I am actually thinking of getting one as a future mate for my female.

I found this pic on Homegrown Herps website, but I have seen others that look even closer to the one you have.

Check Bob's website... You might see if he could ID it with a picture.. It doesn't look like a pyro to me, it looks like the Mexican Mountain King group..* reminds me of a Durango, but I don;t think it is... ****

I would bet it's a thayeri. They don't call them "variable" kings for nothin'...

There are a few different varieties of thayeri with different colors and patterns...

I bet thayeri, too. I see that phase often. When you breed them, you can get _any_ of the colors, a rainbow of baby snakes! That is what makes them cool.
