I've been following for a while, but had missed this picture. The "foster" looks just great! I sincerely hope that she (he?) decides to eat on his own.
(I know you know this as a nurse, but the lack of muscle tone in a starved animal can set up all sorts of problems. As they get more "groceries" in their system, the build up of muscle just makes them so much healthier!)
And (eyes closed, hand to my forehead) I do see in your future a number of weakened snakes showing up at your door.
