The spider in my cupboard

I discovered this black widow over the weekend, guess I have a new house guest  Oh well, it is in the guest bathroom, and it is a cupboard I don't use for anything. So I guess she can have it. I am waiting to see if she develops the hourglass marking or not.

Fun stuff your nice to let that one stay. I allow one spider per room, but everyone else is relocated back outside, lol. It tries my family nuts but they take care of any other scavengers and don't bother me a bit.

Uuugh... spiders... You're brave, Jen... I would have screamed and ran away. *shudder* Good luck with your new roommate though! :D

I don't mind spiders in the house as long as they stay in their web but if they go wondering I put them outside. I don't think I would allow a Black Widow to stay in my house after seeing what their bite can do, but I do find them interesting.

Despite their venom, they are pretty non-aggresive, and tend to run away and hide if they can. I run into them a lot in landscaping because they like to hide in irrigation valve boxes. Besides I think I would be more likely to get bitten if I tried to catch and/or kill this spider than if I just let her be. I know of a few people who have kept these in jars as pets, though.
