"Throw me something, mister!"

If you've ever been to a Mardi Gras parade, you've heard or yelled that. If you haven't ever had that privilege, you have NO idea how many necklaces and trinkets - not to mention the ubiquitous Moon Pies! - are thrown in such a parade.

I knew there had to be a good use for those myriad beads when the parades were over. Boz, my snow stripe-motley, agreed. He totally enjoyed burrowing through the colorful pile. Thanks for looking, and laissez les bons temps rouler!

I know someone up here the regularly ring jousts and her horse is always wearing a long chain of metallic green Mardi-Gra beads around his neck when he competes. That's so cool!

Great backdrop! He certainly doesn't seem to mind!

I knew there was a reason I kept so many of those things.

I remember when I went to Mardi Gras. It was the first MG after Katrina. My friend, a native, kept saying, "We'll go to this parade and that parade!" He was so excited. I said, "Uh huh!" trying to sound interested, but I was really thinking, "How booooring!" (Parades around here are boring.) So we get down there, and I see my first parade and before I know it, I'm screaming, "Throw me something, mister!" and diving for beads. It sure does bring out the kid in you.

Looking back at this one made me laugh! Yes, this was a great use for all those Mardi Gras beads. Boz is still beautiful. I told him he was being admired again, but he didn't seem to care one way or another. Thanks for the compliments, folks!
