Tinley Pick-ups!!

Had a great time at the Tinley show. Was great to meet a couple members and hang out with Terri (crackerhead)<--very fitting name, BTW, and Frank (again23) <--king of the white snakes!

I got the lovely Amel Striped lady from Terri, what a sweetheart! The snake that is!

And I finally got a female Rhino Rat for my male. My male is a year older and turning emerald green with a slate blue belly. It will be cool watching her go from brown to green herself! These are too cool!

*sigh*. I've got my work cut out for me the next few days. I've gotta go to Israel, Ohio, and back to Florida ALL in the pursuit of kidnapping beautiful snakes!

It was good to meet you too Emily.

Thanx Heather! I just went up and clicked a picture of the male. You can see the blue highlights around his mouth and chin and along his side.

Robbie...I'll be sure to put out the dogs!

Okay, I'm not crazy about stripes but that amel is AMAZING!

And as for the Rhino Rat....OMG! What is THAT?! Its STUNNING! Where do I get me one of those? How much do they cost and how easy are they to keep??? I think I have a new favorite breed of snake!

Devon

As far as the Rhino Rats, I would say they are probably intermediate level keepers. If I remember right. I think I've talked to the guy that breeds them many times about it just because they are so cool looking. I've unfortunately kept myself from buying one. I believe they are running around 300 at the shows I've seen the guy at. Obviously Danny will be able to give you more accurate information.

great pickups!

the rhino color change is amazing, i've seen a few progressive threads on other sites, quite a big change. very cool

Thanx guys! Stephen's price is close for a male but expect to pay more for a female.

These guys are real laid back and rarely hide. Being arboreal I felt it unfair keeping my male in my corn rack so I picked up a front slider that will give him room to go up.

They hatch out really small and are normally started on feeder guppies before switching to pinkies so it can take time to get them established. Eating f/t was a prerequisite for both of these, I'd rather get experience on babies I hatch out rather than ones I lay out $$$ for.

Sweet Rhino Danny, congrats on the girlie! (I think I was there at the Cleveland show when you bought the boy). Wish I could've gone, but $, ah well next time. Put me at the top of the list for one of the Rhino offspring! I'm starting a coin collection now.
How long until they do the 'dirty'?

SUPER NICE! Love the Striped Amel... but like everyone else, the Rhino Rat is AMAZING! Love your big Rhino too! So pretty!

Congrats!

You know Danny I was just saying the nicest stuff about you to my hubby at lunch today. Now I have to take it all back.:nyah: I'm working on a girlfriend for you, I mean the rhino rat!
Terri

Thanx Kyle and Fred! It will be a couple years with this girl but Terri is capable of performing miracles!!

Terri

It would be GREAT to produce these next year instead of having to wait a year or two. Maybe getting first pic would qualify for your forgiveness?!? :shrugs: :grin01:

Lol, well it's Trent, but no biggie. Stephens is the last name. Anyway, congrats on the pickups! I would like to have one in the future so I might come your way. Lol
