Trash Kitten is all grown up!

I found this little boy back in March in a Dumpster while stopped at a gas station with my mom. He was, to say the least, a little pathetic looking. He was promptly taken to the vet and declared free of parasites and FeLV and FIV. He weighed a scant 14.3 ounces.

After much love and care (and a little frustration, as he's very much a rowdy little boy), he now weighs a healthy 10lbs. and you'd never believe he was left as forgotten less than 10 months ago.

And no, he's not blind. He's just too quick to blink when my camera flashes. When the weather, and his manners, improve I plan on getting some outdoorsy shots to showcase his pretty baby blues. :}

Thanks for looking! :D

Wow, hasn't he turned into a pretty little man! My little dumpster kitty isn't that calm. She's younger though. Have you had any major problems with your little boy?

Beautiful little Flame Point Siamese you have there. It's amazing how quickly they grow. I found a kitten in May, duct taped shut in a box in the park, he was about the same size and age as yours was when you found him and like yours he's over 10 lbs now. I forgot what a handful a kitten can be. Mine went through a "Tarzan" stage where he wanted to swing from the curtains and anything else that wouldn't run away from him.

Thank y'all! I've had no major problems, health wise. Behavior wise, oh yes. He's currently got this thing going where, at night, he likes to tear through the house with all his claws extended. He's got a front declawing coming his way, if I can save up to purchase the procedure before he turns 1.

And yes! I can't believe how much bigger he is. He used to fit in my hand and now I have to heft him up with both arms. Lol! My boy got tangled in the blinds once and I gave him such a fright with a water gun and can of pennies that he's never done it since. He does, however, like to try to get at my little parrotlet. :\

Wow he's gorgeous! We are also going thru the kitten crazies here...my 14 year old cat passed away and after a few months we decided to get another to keep our 6 year old cat company. A smallish "year old" cat picked us, and we took him home thinking he was just a small cat. Well, shelter animals are big liars and suck ups, and we soon found out he wasn't a calm, young adult cat...he's gone from 6.5 to 10 pounds in about 5 weeks and is CRAZY!

I have fostered parrots for years, not now though because I think Ninja would kill them. I swore he was getting declawed! He doesn't try and sharpen his claws on anything but the cardboard bought for that purpose but he's clawed my curtains, used to swing from the blind cord, you name it and he was swinging on it....ugh. He has settled down more and spray bottle helps. :)

Oh, he is gorgeous! Whats his name? I remember someone named a kitten Finnegan but I don't remember who, I thought it was such a cool name I named one of my corns that XD

He's gorgeous!! I really don't understand how anyone could throw an animal away. We've rescued two feral kittens this year, same parents, different litters. We sure didn't plan on it, like we don't have enough cats already, lol. I just love how beautiful your boy is now. What a lucky fellow!

Oh my gosh no need to resort to surgery! Goodness. Invest in some softpaws. Those things are THE best, they're cheaper than surgery, they come in different colors, and they solve all the problems you would get your cat declawed for!

Anyway, SUPER awesome of you to take him in and help! I love seeing stories with happy endings like this. He looks so healthy now. <3

What a handsome cat! Beautiful coat. My first cat had the same sad story as yours, but with a happy ending. She was a long haired black cat with bright yellow eyes, found behind some trash cans as a tiny kitten. We rescued her and she turned into the most stunning feline in the neighborhood.

I'm very much against declawing myself. My two girls get nails clipped every week. Cassie lets me do her three paws and has gotten use to me checking her fourth paw. Even my feral Spookie will let me do her nails. It take five minutes (10 if I can't find Spook). It also convinces the dogs that they want theirs done. Now if only the dogs would convince the cats that teeth brushing doesn't equal death.

Thanks for all the kind replies and comments. His name is Finnegan, or Finn, or usually Kibby. It's nice to hear how many other cats have been rescued from a similar fate. :}

Also, I really don't want this thread to turn into a declawing debate nor did I post this thread for that reason. I apologize for even bringing the subject up, but let's please stop the topic now before it spirals out of control. Thank you for understanding.

He is a beauty! Every time I see a beautiful cat I start thinking how nice it would be to have one. Thankfully, other posters have reminded me why I won't have another one--claws and the prey drive (we have a lot of parrots). That and 1) Litter Boxes and 2) Plant Eating.

So now I just enjoy other people's cats through their photos. Yours is one of the prettiest I've seen in a long time :).

Awww, I LOVE Flame Point Siamese cats!

I had one named Richard Parker, after the Tiger in Pi, and one of my favorite things about him was his bright blue eyes.. oh and that he was affectionate, but not afraid to let ya know what he was thinking and needing. ;)

Oh yea, also, my friends had a Flame Point years back, and they found him on the Max (Portland's public transportation system). They weren't sure how he got there, but immediately knew they had to give him a home. I think Siamese are VERY smart and resourceful.

Yes, sometimes he tries my patience, but it's the moments when he curls up in my lap, purring, that I forget all the mischief he causes. :}

And thaaaank you all! I've loved Flame Points since I was a little girl, so it's a bit serendipitous (I think) that I found him. Now maybe if I can stumble upon a Snowshoe...

Also, here's some pictures I just took of the little monster. It's uncharacteristically warm (though windy), so I snagged a few and let him venture around in the backyard...which I don't think he enjoyed much. But they show off his purty eyes.

Jessica, I am not really a cat person, but that is a pretty cat. If I had to have one, I think I'd want one just like yours.
