Vanay- Anery ugly progression

PRETTY!! 8D I love her eyes!

She does have pretty eyes. :3 The better to draw you in close enough to bite you with!

I really love how clean her pattern is and that everything is bordered in black! Oh, and BLACK TONGUE! So cute! :D

That is definitely one of my favorite things about her. She is really really clean in her pattern now. She wasn't when she was smaller. And yes, the black tongue... why did the camera have to focus on her *neck*??? *sobs*

I end up laughing like a looney when I'm trying to get 'natural shots' of a wriggly snake, getting my hand in the shot perfectly focussed and a blurry head!
Vanay's growing well, and definately an interesting and beautiful little corn.

Half the photo shoot was spent staring at tornado-snake and wondering when she was going to finally tire herself out. And yes... the joy of "And here is a lovely picture of my hand. That blur is a snake. Enjoy."

That is a charcoal right because it dont look like aneryA. That pink/copper color over the light gray, it is like a champaign gray color. All the hatchlings anerys I have seen dont get that color .

I'm surprised how clean and light she's getting- she was such a dark baby!!

I know! And for a couple sheds she was getting darker overall, and now this! I think she's much prettier than her early photos showed promise of. :3 She no longer deserves the "ugly".

That's kind of the question, Vin. I got her from petco, so there's no history on her at all. She has decidedly charcoal color, but her eyes are *all* wrong for it. However... I've seen pictures of some homozygous anery-charcoal babies, and she could fit in with them fairly well.

Yeah, she does kind of look like that, doesn't she. Beautiful little one. Makes me think about trying to breed for anery charcoals someday.

I had the same thought... and I can't help but wonder what an anery phantom from her would look like.....

And thus was Shiari unable to remember the thousand morph names. XD Mmmmn... tasty platinums...

You do know they buy corns in bulk. Any knuckle head at the supply house could have mixed it up. They dont know much there. I would go with charcoal at least from what I see

She is really pretty, and was from the beginning of the sequence. I would be happy to give her a home if you ever get tired of her...

Wow Shiari! She's growing up to be quite a looker! That head pattern is fantastic! I would have to agree that she looks very much like an anery charcoal. I have a bunch of charcoal yearlings and subadults and she really doesn't look like them at all...

It is very difficult to tell 100% but all the charcoals I got from RZ and ones I produced from his stock tend to have that same color. The only way to know for sure is to breed it to a Anery A. The Anery A stock was tainted from the beginning. The wild caught adult was first bred to a snow because they thought is was just a abnormal Anery. Now the funny thing is they got normals and Anery A young .

It makes me glad that you think she was pretty from the first. :D .... and NEVAR! Nevar will I let her leave. XD

Thanks Hallie! Her head pattern is soooo bizarre, and one of the things that drew me to her at the Petco. She looks absolutely nothing like my charcoal either, but also nothing like the aneries I've had. She really does look right inbetween.

Her pink cheeks look just like my charcoal, my charcoal has a gorgeous purple sheen to him but her eyes are so different to Charlie

She's blushing with joy over getting yet more chances to bite me. XD Vanay has a sort of blue-ish wash to her scales in bright sunlight, but I can't catch it with the camera.

She's in blue! My camera was being poopy so I have only a couple pics to act as comparison. The cold, high overcast, and 'gonna rain on you at any moment!" environment didn't really help either.

Vanay should shed by the end of this week! :D

Shed!!! 12-10-09

Vanay shed yesterday so obviously picture time. The sun was nice enough to be somewhat out for me for a few moments, though it is now once again looking ready to rain.

Naturally I had to run out and snap a few quick pics of my lovely girl.

"It's COLD out here Mom!"

Vanay was kinda sleepy when I picked her up and I'm delighted she decided to stay curled up for a bit.

Immediately after this picture she turned once again into a tornado. Oh well. Vanay has finally, if you squint real hard in real life, developed the tiniest, palest bit of yellow for about an inch along her neck, right behind her jaw. Absolutely could not get a photograph to show it, however.

I wonder if her head pattern will completely vanish one day. :/

Now... a note before the last picture. The sun was just about to vanish and I had a moment to wonder "how does silver-gray snake look on reddish things?" so I plopped her on the curb.

The colors are NOT accurate. Too bright. But between that and the red, it's a lovely photo so I'm going to share it.

BUt dang if I don't wish she'd turn out to look like this for real.
