One of my 08 males back from serpencos sale, that is het for bloodred. came in with about 15% from neck to half an inch down on th belly no pattren and all white. Now looking at him from his last shed which was yesterday his belly is almost complety white and I only suggest that itll get better with time.

This is an '08 caramel whose both paresnts are het bloodred, so she has a 66% chance of being het bloodred. However, she shows the classic "het markers" for bloodred...the baldy/skull head pattern and a "split" belly pattern.
And you must understand, not all het bloodreds show either of these markers, and they are not a guarantee of the het, but if you're going to keep only some of the hatchlings with the hope of getting some that are het bloodred...these are the ones to keep. At the rate she's growing, I might be able to test her in 2011.
The first photos were taken last month, the others last August and show the head pattern better.

Glad things are better. Does anyone know if the pattern alleles (motley/striped) express themselves in het?

Thanks, I would not have gotton them except for the fact got my herp room and heat wire set-up and then Justin came to me with an awesome deal and I hade the cash from some work I did for my grandparents so i said after Thanksgiving I will go ahead and get 'em! Still need to get hides and water bowels for them.

I would say no, but since some genes are doing non-normal things with the pattern (Sunkissed in particular), anything is possible. For example, I would lay odds that this normal het Sunkissed, which is 50% het motley, actually IS het motley, just based on his belly pattern. I had a female from the same clutch with a similar belly pattern that I had kept with this male, but unfortunately, she died. I'm hoping to pair my Sunkissed male with a motley female of the same lines to see if any more like this show up. And if I recall properly, I've seen hatchlings with similar belly patterns that also had Sunkissed and motley involved.

I agree with what Torsten said the first go 'round. And not even the getting out completely or thinning the herd, but you said you were going to slow down, and less than a week later, we find out you're getting two more. Way to show everyone you care about the advice they take the time to give you.

BloodRed isn't the only morph, that can influence the look of a snake. I have a hypo that is het for both bloodred and caramel.You can see the influence of both morphs in this snake.

I'm getting sick of this. Honestly, who really cares what someone else does with their collection? Leaving, quitting, getting more, cutting back. None of it should matter to anyone that it doesn't affect. If you don't like reading about this kid's trials and tribulations on a daily basis, change the channel. There are plenty of other personal little dramas on this forum to occupy your time with. You know what this one is all about, so just move on to fresh meat.
