I haven't sold any yet, but I have given away two. First was a snake that a good friend gave to me, that although she was very sweet, I needed to save room for future babies. So when I was able to find her an excellent home with people I trusted, I was happy to re-home her. And she turned extra, extra sweet in the last few days just to make me feel more guilty!! I'd only had her in my possession for a few months, so it wasn't that bad. My second snake to be re-homed was my third snake, and the first snake I picked out and bought. Again, not a snake that I would ever breed (not a corn) and while she is not unfriendly, she isn't really a people-loving snake, either. So I didn't miss the personal interaction with her, because I'd respected her wishes to be left alone. Still, when I dropped her off at FedEx Monday, I had a few tears in my eyes and I even waved goodbye to the box on the counter...
I'm going to be in trouble when I go to sell adorable babies of my own production next year.
My first-ever snake (since I moved to Florida) was WC and died. My second-ever snake is another species that I will never breed, but Choco is a people-snake, or at least she likes being out with _me_, so I have hours and hours and hours of handling time, friend time, movie-watching time, and I can't imagine ever parting with her. Actually, Choco was given to me by the same friend that gave me Janey. Obviously, _he_ doesn't have any problem re-homing!
Nearly all the corns have been well-thought out purchases with future breeding of higher-end morphs in mind. Except for the one I bought just because she was too beautiful to resist, Cherry!!
