What does Your Snake Hate?

I think our baby hates being picked up but might like getting handled. I know it hates when we watch him through the glass, it likes to watch us when it thinks we aren't looking.

Thanks guys!! And thanks nanci : ) thought i would try and make a successfull thread for once lol! :p and since he bit my hair i sorta had a hot topic to ask you guys : )

Keep up the answers there funny lol! : P Evil snakes FTW!

My snake hates it wen I don't handle him and sometimes bites me out of spite when I say sorry to him. He also hates it when I change his water.

Most of my snakes hate it when I open their tub and I don't have food for them... especially the Kings and House Snakes.

My Spotted Python hates being handled when people are around. I can handle him/her in my room, by myself. If anyone walks by or if I take him/her out to visit, I get a pretty good bite...

My baby is so placid that it's hard to know what she dislikes! She certainly starts quite badly when she hears the top of the tank being opened, even if I'm only changing her water. I always imagine that if she could speak she'd probably be swearing in surprise. ;)

She also wriggles a bit when lifted, but is quite content to be handled. Has never bitten or attempted to bite anything. Not even her food. Speaking of food, she doesn't like unslit fuzzies... they have to be dripping in mousie bodily fluids (well, isn't that how everyone likes their food?).

Oh, yes, and she doesn't like my mother. She'll crawl over to someone else's hand from mine, but if she smells my mother she retreats hastily. :p And my mum just wants to be loved.

avery hates: my roommate's dogs (understandably.) my computer monitor. being held underwater. a small, white glove that i pick him up with sometimes. mostly anyone who isn't me (although he might not be too fond of me, either. hehe.) my bed. i am sure the list could go on and on. if only he could talk! :grin01:

um....held underwater? why??

I'm not really sure if theres anything my wee snake hates, because she's pretty darn chill.

She didn't like it when I took away her egg-carton jungle gym due to her pooing all over it though. ( I figure the all the fun activity got her going.)

And she doesn't seem to like my best friend. I think she can sense when people are uncomfortable with her.

She likes me best- she always crawls towards me when other people are holding her. I think its just a ploy to get me to put her jungle gym back.
"pleasseee? see? I like you best!!!"

lol.

Tepin used to hate being handled but she suddenly mellowed with age and now she's real o.k. with everything. All the corns hate water. My one Green tree python hates everything...although she was surprisingly mellow the other day. I have one baby holdback that was a poor feeder that hates being handled. The other one loves it. Odd how two clutchmates can be so different in personality. The amazon seems to like just about everything.

Wishbone hates when somebody gets in the way of his 'people watching'. he just sits and stares at whoever is in the room, but if i stand in his view he moves to see around me.

FinFang hates being exposed, if I didn't find poop around his viv I'd wouldn't believe he ever moves from his favorite hide.

he also hates the bathroom, and being picked up after a meal. And most of the time he's not too thrilled about being handled at all.

But he's really nice, and has never been aggresive.

Luna, my MBK, hates the light. She is always hiding during the day, either burrowed under the substrate or curled back deep inside one of her hides. She won't eat unless her feeding bin is completely blacked out...NO light, or she refuses. If I hold her during the day, she just sits there in one spot, and hardly moves, just flicks her tongue alot. But if I take her out at night, even with a light on, she is MUCH more active, cruising around my hands, and even cruising her viv all night.

Sammi Snake, the corn, is so chill, I don't think there is anything that she doesn't tolerate well. She's not a huge fan of baths, but will let me if I have to(which is only at the end of a blue phase, to aid the final shed). And she doesn't particularly care to be watched when she is cruising her viv, she freezes and watches you with intensity the second she spots you. If you move, she bolts under the nearest cover, but if you don't move, she goes about her business.

Soleil, my Florida King, doesn't like my hand when I put it in her viv. She rears back and will sometimes strike as my hand is nearing her, however, once I pick her up, she settles right down, and seems to enjoy the additional exercises my hands can provide.

Smij hates it when i "catch" him roaming his Viv at night. As soon as i turn the light on, if he is out and about he freezes and stares at me for a minute, before slithering off into his hide via the quickest available route. A couple of minutes after I turn the light off again he will stick his head out to check there's no one spying on him, then venture out again..... LOL :grin01:

Mine, like a lot of others I've heard, hates water. She falls off the "lip" on the top of her tank into her water bowl a lot (why she doesn't just slither along to the other side of the viv and climb down using the hygrometer, I don't know) and everytime she does she almost flies out of the thing! It's not too deep and it's room temperature, but she just doesn't like it. And when I put her back from handling I always direct her head towards the water and if her chin so much as grazes it she freaks out and flies under the aspen. :shrugs:
