What morphs?

capio cum grano salis
Hi all! i have this beautiful female corn snake but cant really figure out what morph she is... my best guess is lavender, charcoal, diffused - she was called "garnet" when i bought her, but i have no clue what genes are there.
I also got this male, not knowing what morph he was, he just looked different. Jet black checkers on his belly and almost yellow eyes.
please let me know what you think. :)

The first one looks like it's probably a classic... Maaybe a hypo? It doesn't seem to have much for saddle borders.

The second one, does her belly have checkers? First thing to come to my mind was lavender diffused... First thing to come to my fiance's mind was "something with charcoal" but I don't see it :p

Probably not very helpful, but either way they're pretty!

Yes, but the descriptions don't match the picture order. We are asking about the second snake pictured...

to clarify...

sorry the pictures are opposite the description. The red one has checkers - black checkers.
The grey one has no checkers, i know she is diffused something... like i said im thinking charcoal lavender. but dont know for sure. her saddles look charcoal like and the background is purple/pink

She looks like a LavBlood to me...

Okay, everyone saying hypo for the first one... yes, from the top it looks to be hypo, but the OP has stated several times that she has pure black belly checks! Hypos don't have black checks! The first is a normal.

The other appears to be a diffused lav of some sort.

I was told one of my females was a common she looks just like this one but has black around her buckels. So which is the true common. I m having a hard time really catching on to the morphz. Sorry alittle off subject.

There is a massive variety in "Normal" corn snakes. They can range from having very little saddle borders (like this one) to having extremely thick saddle borders, like in the case of Okeetees--which are, technically, wild-type corn snakes, just selective/line bred.

The first one has the same type of coloration as my classic boy Shorty. Supposedly a "not too exciting " color, but I LOVE that look, and those colors are really easy to take good pictures of! Shorty's warm color combo makes him one of my favorite animals.

The second one looks lavender-something to me too.

Where did you buy these beauties that the breeder couldn't tell you what they were?

Well, the jet-black checkers lead me to think it is a nice normal phenotype that has little to no dark pigment around the saddle blotching, which can be quite normal for many wild-types.

The bottom one is going to be tough to ever know exactly what it is. I can see that it definitely has diffused lavender in it's genetics, but anything else is simply pure speculation. This is also why I don't think you should have posted it as a definite "charcoal plasma" on Ian's Vivarium without knowing exactly what it's genetics are with 100% certainty. I'm sure there are many other morphs that made their way there on an assumption.
