Where to find frozen mice??

I'd feed frozen after hearing and seeing what live do. Rats can lead to obese corns. Why do you need them to grow fast?

You're not allowed to sell items unless you're a contributing member ont he forum.

Also, I agree with Skully. Feeding rats can cause obese snakes. The most they need is a large adult mouse, or an XL adult mouse, for the bigger corns. The *only* time I feed rats to my corns, is when I have a female that really needs extra boost after laying eggs.
Also, feeding live can be very dangerous for snakes, being in an enclosed area, if the mouse/rat fights back, many snakes have ended up with severe injuries, sometimes death.
Feeding frozen/thawed or pre-killed is way better than feeding live, any day.

Sounds like what your husband really wants are obese snakes covered in bite wounds to me.....and when you grow them up fast many have trouble breeding.

Please consider investing in a CO2 chamber. Safer for the snake and much more humane for the rodent.
Plus rats are an inappropriate diet for colubrids.

I used rodentpro when I ordered mice online for the first time. They only had one box size and it is huge! So if you are only buying say a bag of 100 of each size (the weanlings and adults come in bags of 50) you have a whole lot of room still left in that box. So the shipping for it is pretty expensive. That is why I went to American Rodent Supply for the free shipping. But sadly right now they aren't taking new customers.

So if you are willing to dish out for the shipping then rodentpro has good mice. At least when I bought from them. That's been about 2 years ago though.
 
I will only be buying for one snake. could anyone tell me how much I should order for the first year of life? I want to order for a year but don't know how much, or which sizes I will need.
 
Shelf life for frozen mice varies based on how they are stored. Regardless I wouldn't choose to feed mice that have been in a freezer for a year. Like all frozen food they degrade. The best scenario is to buy enough food for a 3 month period. For one snake eating once a week that would be between 12-24 food items depending on size of the item, shedding cycles, how that animal eats, etc.. The longest I have ever kept frozen mice/rats was 6 months in vacuum sealed bags. I'm not saying keeping them longer can't be successfully done. I simply saying it is not optimal.

3 months cool, I don't have a dedicated freezer so I don't I could keep it longer than that. I wonder if there is anyplace that lets you buy for a year and ships in segments through the year
