Picked up this Male Snow a little over a month ago........thought I would share some photos. They aren't that great as I just had 4 pins removed from my right hand yesterday and couldn't keep the camera that steady while he squirmed around in the other. Anyway, enjoy.

Thats gorgeous I love the colors that seem to be trying to break out. This would be really cool if its reproducible. I have seen a few threads with similar 'breakouts' but never this extreme.

I understand its a paradox snow, but to me it looks more like a paradox opal?

no matter what... nice!

He is absolutely stunning, I would love to have one like him. I hope it can be reproduced that would be really nice. Has anyone ever reproduced the paradox snows?

I THOUGHT I recognized that snake, and then I saw your location. You got it from an Austin pet store, right? I'm surprised they finally found a buyer for the price they were asking. He is VERY pretty, but don't get your hopes up. I'm VERY sorry to have to say it, but that look has popped up at least a dozen times, and it has NEVER been shown inheritable. Sucks, since that is a very neat look in a snow and ghost.

That is a very very cool looking snake. I would love to get my hands on one like him..If you ever breed him I"m sure you'll get good money from his offspring...cool looking snake! :0)

What if you had two of them? Why is inheritable in KSBs? Or is that just something different. Probably.

Thanks for the replies and comments everyone......much appreciated. If ever a snake could have a personality, it would be this guy. I have enjoyed having him in my collection and he could very well be the best one of the bunch. Having said that:

1. He was purchased as a project snake with the hopes of reproducing this trait. I understood from talking to some well known people before the purchase was made that my chances were slim........even a Paradox X Paradox has been paired before with normal offspring as a result.

2. He was purchase because, he is a he, a male.........which gives me more opportunities per year to work any magic he may carry, a factor unavailable with a female.

3. He was purchased at a price, that to me, was ridiculous........too good of an offer to pass up. I did not pay what they were asking and I felt it was definitely worth it to have a chance at producing something special. The people that know me, know I like things different and out of the ordinary.......which is exactly what this guy displays.

4. If I don't get ANYTHING from him other than normal babies.....he is still an outstanding specimen in my opinion that will be a great display snake. Just like playing the lottery, you have to take a chance and that is exactly what I did. The results of failing far outweigh the thought of not taking a chance and having somebody else other than me take it.....only to find out later that I made a mistake and left something on the table.

5. He was purchased as a gift for my wifes birthday (LOL.....yeah, kind of planned that way on my part) and she loves him. She could care less if I ever mate him in the future to anybody or if he just sits around in his 55 gallon tank the rest of his life in between personal holding sessions. No matter what happens, the way I see it.........everybody wins.

Thanks again,

g

First...Galen...it is definitely nice to see you posting again. Stick around...we could use another level-head around here!

Second...I FULLY agree with your reasoning behind purchasing this snake. Regardless of the reproductability of his paradox nature...he is awesome in and of himself. Fantastic snake, whatever the breeding outcomes!

Thirs...I hope you can find a way to bring out his paradox nature in his offspring. It is a genetic trait, somehow...you just need to find the right combination. Paradox is a trait in Kenyan sand boa's that is regularly reproduced...you just need to find the combination...I think.

Whatever...GREAT snake, good luck, and Welcome Home!!
