who says pitbulls are bad dogs

pwargcm

wrong way
i am tired of people saying that pits are bad dogs and that they should not be a family pet. not saying that i hear that on here but i just wanted to share a couple photos that i took of my niece drew with her one family dog bella. drew is a year and 6 months old. bella is actually i think pregnant in these pictures. well, she was just bred to their male bugsy, but bugsy was off exploring the farm when i took them. so i have none with him in it. best dogs ever.

dont let people tell you a breed of dog is a bad dog, its the owner and training that makes them bad.

ok, and i threw in an extra from her younger days too. lol. enjoy.

Great pics, that last one is funny. Pit Bulls usually are great with their family members, and you're right about it coming down to proper training, and responsible owners.

Bella is beautiful, I love that silvery color. She is so cute with your niece!

I had 2 rotties and my sister has a pit and I love them. I'm a fan of big dogs and plan on getting a pit and a rottie when I get my own home they are great dogs, despite their reputation. I got attacked by my one rottie's mother and the father would try to kill anyone but the puppy we got from them was the nicest dog ever. They guy that owned the mother and father did not treat his dogs right and they were all vicious. Just goes to show you it is how they are raised, not the breed.

Yeah, the breed makes them more predisposed to being strong willed, which can lead to more aggressive dogs due to bad owners, but with good training they can be just as friendly as any other dog.

I adore pits. My hubby and I are basing our choice of where to buy our home on some ridiculous BSL that is in the area we want to end up...so that I can have myself a little staffy someday. We're moving to the Denver area, but I refuse to live in a city that wholesale butchered its pitty residents.

Bully breeds are by far my favorite dogs, currently own an american bulldog and just found a home for a pitbull we had. They're strong and very loyal, but also very stubborn. It's important to give them training they need from the time they're very small.

My AB has hunting bloodlines and is somewhat dog aggressive, but we do what we can to help this. Fenced in backyard, biweekly walks with a big group of dogs, pinch collar, etc, but things have gotten ugly a few times when people don't think they need to have their dog on a leash and they run up to me and casey walking in the street. But he's a real protector. I have scars on my left knee and both my hands from a stray pitbull, and casey was there to get him off of me.

But anyways, here's casey the american bulldog. He's about a year and half old, and weighs about a 100lbs. He's not as muscular as many american bulldogs I've seen, but I believe that's because we got him fixed when he was a pup.

And the pitbull, duke. Found him as a stray pup and took him in. Great dog. But also dog aggresive to all but Casey and Zeus our minpin.

thanks for all the nice comments. yeah bella is a great looking blue. if she is pregnant then im going to be aquiring one of her pups. im excited.

I love pibbles. If it weren't for me living in a condo AND having Kumo already, I would be taking my uncle's 3 month old pup. Fortunately, a friend of my aunt has experience with bully breeds and is adopting Alex... who is the cutest dog EVAR! D:< She's totally got the border collie insecurity "oh please please please love me love me love me". And she nips ankles. :3 First piccy is her at 6 weeks old. Second was just a couple weeks ago. She doesn't look terribly pit unless you see in her person, because she's only 1/4. But her head is definitely NOT a border collie head, and nor are those stunning greenish eyes.

*fans herself* Gods I want this dog! ;_;

I'm a big fan of bully breeds, and they are probably all I will ever own. People DO need to realize that dog-aggression can be a real issue, though. All the socialization in the world won't help for a dog that is hard-wired DA. I believe it's a small percentage that have that trait in their very DNA, but what they are capable of is very different than most breeds. Sadly, some of the worst possible dog owners are drawn to them.

Great Bullies! We have two pits and I have no worries about them whatsoever around any of our children. In my opinion they are one of the best breeds anyone could own. Here are a couple of pictures of ours. A couple of them as pups and a couple more recent. Again, great Bullies!

Awww!! All these bully babies make me want a dog even more! I love the bully breeds. So far, I have only met one pit that made me step back in uncertainty. But, the poor baby was scared because he was in a strange kennel and his mom had made a huge fuss when she dropped him off. Drama gets to them. He was as sweet as can be after settling in for a few days.

Just as soon as I can afford my own house, or maybe even just another apartment where furry pets are welcome, I'm getting a dog. Hubby thinks we're getting an Australian Shepard, but I have news for him!! Bring on the bullies! :)

Oh, they're all so beautiful! Bullies are my favorite... Well, correction. Boxers are my favorite. They're close enough to bullies, though. Lol. =)

Nice, Elrojo! My coffee table looks like that, too. It's been through three puppy stages (total four dogs), and Romeo still chews/licks the metal legs.

It makes me laugh (and then, subsequently, angry) when people freak out over a bully just because--well, because it's a bully breed! People are actually scared of my Sammy.. Until they meet her. My classmate's dad still thinks Romeo wants to tear him to shreds. People freak out when Romeo or the neighbor's sweetheart pit girl get out of the yards, but they think nothing of it when the other neighbor's lab and Irish setter get out (every day--the woman won't even get tie-outs!!!), drive everyone else's dogs crazy, and then tear up peoples' garbage... Ugh.

Anyway... Kachine! GO FOR IT! Herders are MEAN little dogs... My mom's corgi/cattle dog mix is an absolute terror!

Last but not least, some snapshots of my bully-type terrors. The brindle is Sammy, a 9.5 y/o purebred Boxer, and the black one is Romeo, 1.5 y/o boxer/boston/maybe pit mix. As you can see, they both like to roll around on their backs when they're in a playful mood... Lol. =)

If I remember correctly Pitts are nicknamed the "nanny" dog because they are so gentle, carring and well behaved with kids.

I'm not a huge fan of most bully breeds, they're just not my cup of tea. But I do think they are wonderful dogs, and can appreciate them. When i was younger I had a babysitter that had a pitbull. We went to the sitters at about 5 am, and I went and lied down on the couch every morning, and the dog would hop on the couch and curl up down by my feet. Sweet dog.

post a couple other family jewels. two rescued boxer pits. and a really expensive weimreiner show dog. i know i spelled that one wrong. im sorry.

daisy is the female brindle, bruno is the male black and white. and vegas was a wedding gift. shes a good dog but the only one of them that misbehaves or is agressive.
