WOOOT BARRACK OBAMA

Now that's just racist, Bethany! Why do you hate Obama so?

My problem with thinking the rich SHOULD give more to those not as fortunate is thats a bunch of crap. People who earn a decent living aren't fortunate- their hard working, intelligent, and probably but not always well educated. I also disagree with the statement people are created equal- no were not! It's a nice sentiment, but we just aren't and anyone who has lived in the real world knows this whether they view it as right or wrong. The reason grades, pay checks, and bonuses are given in the real world is to provide incentive to do better than your counterparts- not to be equal with them. It may sound harsh, but its the truth and has been proven in many studies other than the one drizz posted. If those who work harder than others are not fairly compensated they will work less, and in the real capitalist world we live in our economy would diminish and within a decade or less we would become another third world country. Allowing people to prosper and yes even over prosper is the only way to keep innovation alive- competition and compensation is the root of America's success. If we work harder, are smarter than, and more creative than our peers we succeed and with that success we continue because we like that and the economic wheel continues to turn. If tomorrow we all could only earn $10 no matter our job the wheel would slow, and eventually just stop. Its our culture whether you or anyone else agrees its the truth. We couldn't live in an equal society and be where we are today- it wouldn't work.

Whether or not I agree with the new President's policies, I cannot help but feel sorry for the man. He has the most difficult, stressful, thankless job on earth. I wouldn't wish his job on my worst enemy. Handsome as he is now, compare his photos now to when his term ends. There will be a sad change.

Actually, I was referring to Ricky. (And I think you knew that!) :)

I suppose this makes me a racist too (not sure how, but I'm sure Ricky could elaborate!).

Haven't snoped this one, but . . . eh, who cares, apparently I'm a racist. (Not sure what that has to do with this one.)

I'm sure this one will get me boxed into a group somewhere too, but just wanted to be sure to help out the bleeding heart liberals with their GoGreen propaganda for the week. ;)

I actually enjoy the more recent specimens in the evolution of undergarments...even if it will be 120* outside

This coming from the kid that told someone else to key their friends car or piss in their front seat. YOU must be a criminal. This coming from the kid that thinks the democrats aren't behind HR669.

As means of explanation, I've added the bolding to the above quote as all "quoted" material appears in italics.

In the original post, the word "kid" was in italics, presumably for emphasis.

Which leads me to my question:

What does one's age have to do with the veracity of what one says?

People should open a thread to post some of this negative garbage I keep reading. I'm not sure why this thread keeps taking this direction, but it always leads back to this same discussion which has nothing to do with being happy Obama won (which seems to be the title of the thread). I keep checking in to see anything that's not negative, but for some reason people are still so bitter. This should be a forum to share information, but sometimes it might as well be some smear campaign forum.
I'm personally thrilled Obama won, and I hope he gets reelected. And as far as anyone here is concerned, he deserved to win. Mcain has supported Obama more than most of the sour grapes here, and if you like Mcain you should learn from how well he dealt with the Obama victory. Seriously, I've heard so many people post about how "hard" they work, and how they work so much harder than the people who don't make much money. But I would think if you worked that hard you wouldn't have so much energy to search online for anti-Obama snippets, and debate ridiculous arguements on a forum, that is supposed to be used to share ideas in a respectful manner.

Didn't have to search one bit for any of it. They were sent to me. Took about 10 seconds to copy/paste. Yeah, I know, lazy. Uncreative. But racist? Seriously?

Of course, I'll admit it took quite a bit longer than 10 seconds to remember that this isn't the first time you or your brother were quick to throw out the "racist" card at the first hint of disagreement with your opinions.

But then I'm forced to ask the question, which Michael (or is it Ricky?) am I speaking to? This one, or this one? Just curious. In your defense, I will admit that at least you're not currently posting under both screen names at the same time considering you haven't logged in with the first one since October. Still a curious situation.

I, too, am happy that Obama won...and more than likely I'll vote for him again when the time arises. However, that does not mean that I agree with everything he does. One thing I hate about politics is that people seem to "pick a side" and the candidate on that side can do no wrong. I see it on both sides, Republican and Democrat. You ever listen to political talk radio? I do all the time (both sides...Limbaugh, Miller, Ed Scultz, Randi Rhodes and I used to love Franken's talk show when it was on). But let me tell you they're all just a bunch of hypocrites when it comes right down to it, every single one of them.

I think this is messed up. We should not be bobble heads, agreeing with everything the politician on "our side" says and does. Instead, we should be questioning every politicians decision, whether they are "on our side" or not. They are working for us...we're not working for them. They are not our buddies; they're our leaders, our representatives, our spokesmen. To go along with this idea...one of my favorite quotes ever is from the movie V for Vendetta. "People shouldn't fear their governments, governments should fear their people".

And finally, it is good to have a sense of humor. You'll give yourself an ulcer.

This, for instance:

"Wait a minute now, I didn't authorize ATTACKS on the Pirates, I authorized A TAX on the pirates"

...hilarious.

I tried to rep you, but I've given out too much. So I'll just respond here.
This is something that I completely, 100% agree with. It reminds me of another forum that I'm a member of. (It's a baseball forum.) There's one member on there (that reminds me of some here) who no matter how bad the decisions our front office makes, he agrees with it. There's a pitcher in the bullpen who is making 1.8 million dollars - and he's a below average pitcher - and this person said, "I think it's a good move." He didn't question it like many, many other people on the forum did. He agreed with it, and was on his way.
It doesn't matter what the front office does, he is consistently agreeing with any decision - bad or good.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I agree. LOL
It's as though some people who are too blind to see through the politicians are just like that person. Spending too much money? "I agree 100%." Bailout? "It's good for the economy." It's just beyond ridiculous. There's a reason that we have brains - some people just don't choose to use them. :shrugs:

I started a new screen name seeing I lost the internet for a few months, and just figured a new start would be wise. I've tried not to get involved in these threads, and if I do I have tried my best not to cause conflict. I just don't like which threads keep being the recurring problems, and think that people here should just share like minded opinions on reptile care, and not get so political. As for it being a curious situation, I'm not sure how. 99% of my posts here are about posting or receiving information and photos of snakes. If it's a conspiracy theory that I have a twin brother that also posts here, so be it. I haven't thrown out any cards since I've been back on, and have made sure to keep it that way, as I would rather just post about something else.
As for the person labeling me a blind Obama supporter. I would encourage you to quote a post I've put in this thread that shows blind support, otherwise I'm not the one who's not using my brain. I have defended Obama, but I feel obliged with some of the negative slander that has been posted. Most of the negative snippets are jokes, which is more than fine. But often times it becomes a mob of harassment, and gets overwhelming.
