Daytona 2010

We are definitely going. We will be driving to save on funds. The only thing that sucks is Daytona is usually my last weekend of freedom, so we will have to leave fairly early Sunday in order for me to make it back for a fun day of teaching on Monday. Bah! But we're looking forward to it.

Don't feel bad, darling. I've got to go back to school on Monday after the show, too! Just in a different capacity. :grin01:

At least it's the 1st week back for teachers. It's just mindless meetings all day. We can drive all night and I can catch up on my sleep during the meetings.
 
Lauren and Tara, we had to do that last year because I started class that Monday. Even though it was rough, the drive was worth it. I am soooo glad I am graduating this year so I don't need to worry about it anymore
 
Eventually I will start a new thread with all the pertinent details - but wanted to let you know I have already been in touch with my contact at the Homewood Suites (same hotel we used last year) and she has already put aside a block of rooms for us at the SAME RATES we had last year! That is awesome as usually rates go up - at least a few bucks - each year.
 
Yay!! Pencil me in for 2 adjoining rooms, right across from party central like last year lol. I *think* we are planning on staying there, but Danny is toying with getting a condo/house for the week so who knows
 
ok ill sound like a noob, but what are the dates for the expo? My wife has been trying to talk me into going to FL for a week so we can take the 3 year old on a trip and if I can sneak in the fact that there is an expo that will give me and him to do so we can get away from her for a few.
 
I'm still deciding on whether I should get tables this year....sure would be nice to walk around an play.
 
I have a feeling I will only be able to stay at the show part of the day on Saturday if we are organizing a big GTG/dinner/raffle again like we did last year. I got back too late and felt too rushed setting up last year and would like to get an earlier start on making sure everything is ready.
Sunday I may need to sneak out early as well - I am probably going to be heading to Phoenix on that Monday....going to be a busy weekend/etc for me!
 
I am sooooo going!! Err I mean, WE are going!!

We have not gone ANYWHERE since 2003, so we are due.

My only concerns are....
I'm a bit shy, believe it or not! I will be nervous meeting all of you and am praying I don't come off as a complete butt.... :)

I will be leaving my pet rats for 3 or 4 days and will be worried about them and feel guilty that they will be missing out on their nightly playtime.

And my husband has Celiac disease, so feeding him is going to be a challenge, even though we WILL be at the dinner.
 
As we get closer I will be letting everyone know how to contact me to book hotel rooms and we will put up discussions about the dinner arrangements again. The event was a success last year although the actual food aspect was a bit lacking. I have found out some more info regarding our options for that part for this year, but will wait a bit before we all get into that part.
