Miami het Cinder x Miami het Cinder :)

UNO! :roflmao:

It's perfect!!!

Lets see how funny it would be if the shoe was on the other foot. I could see if it was just another common hatchling . This is one of the new and expensive morphs. I like to see how funny it would be if you raised up 2 expensive hatchling het cinders for 2 to 3 years, finely get a clutch and when they hatch you only get one cinder and it has a prolapsed hemipene. Not to funny is it ?????? I could see desertanimal comment, It was not out of line saying she would call it uno. Cute but not roflmao. If I was lore I would not think to highly of your comment. I'm sure she is very disappointed at this time. Waiting all this time to get one hatchling and not know whether or not she can use it for breeding. If she pops the other hemipene it my not go back in. The same for breeding she may only get one shot . We have no idea if there is another Hemipene and if there is will it prolapse when she breeds it.

I'm not picking on you or being mean just put yourself in Lore shoes

I hope you get a 2 nd clutch Lore and get more cinders. So sorry about this little guy. If you get more maybe you can use this one for a back up.

Thank you for your kind words... indeed I am dissapointed, @ the same time I DO have a sense of humor & I 'get' it.

I've always been a glass half full kind of gal & really this is not the end of the world to me. I'm not doing this to get rich (really who does... these are corn snakes) I'm into photography & corn snakes... 2 bad hobbies if I want a 'get rich quick scheme' LOL! ;) Enough to 'support' my hobby on both accounts is all I look for & is what I expect & I see that working out.

WAS I hoping for more than 1 cinder... SURE I WAS. But I got 1. Am I set aback abit by the fact he has his lil' member issue... Sure I am... but again... in my grand sceme of things, not the end of the world to me. He is still a beautiful Snake & if it comes down to it, he will make ONE HELLOVA beautiful pet for my children.

Again, back to my glass half full outlook... with the multitude of things that CAN go wrong in development, 'how' are we to know that this lad was not made with a perfect normal hemipene & this one that we see is a 'mistake in the genetic code' & '3rd' pene? that just does not fit inside... As it has never retracted, after the sugar water soaking & water soakings, this morning I checked on him & instead of pink it is brown and flat, the piece is dying, I will discontinue the soaking and leave him alone.

I do not know how to 'pop' but when I get together with a friend to sex the clutch I have no problem with him being popped If we see nothing, I am prepared for that & should he feed fine, he will be an AWESOME pet for my kids & I just try again next year OR who knows we may be surprised and see 1 or even 2 healthy hemipene.

I will definitely update what happens with Friday & what we find

I one time had a real nice clutch of Honduran milk snakes that only 1/2 the clutched hatched, all male, all prolapsed except one male. I was so discussed. I would not pop this animal for at least 1 to 2 months so the other hemipene can get strong and more developed. I have had this before I tried soking in sugar water with no luck. I heard perpetration H works better. I would just snip it off . It is dead by now. It will heal a lot quicker with it off. I had a adult WC corn caught both hemipenises were prolasped and infected . I tied dential floss around the base of each hemipene real tight and sniped them off. about a hour later I removed the floss. There was no bleeding except for some dead washed out blood. I sold the animal to a petstore 2 weeks latter. Yes, I told them what happened to the animal

Glad to see you can still have a sense of humor about it!

I think a sense of humor is one of the best tools you can have in overcoming disappointment.

When Bill was in a very serious car accident back in 1992, I flew out with his mom to Tx to stay with him until he could travel. After a couple of days, we could both see he was recovering much faster than predicted. It was difficult to get him into a rental car, and in and out of airplanes a week later. So we were constantly cracking jokes - much better to laugh than to cry, lol! His mom actually became angry with us on several occasions because she thought we weren't taking any of it seriously. I guess she would have preferred us to cry. But I have always felt that if you can keep your sense of humor, you are much likely to be happier than those who don't.

Of course, if it is not MY adversity, then I guess it would be a good idea to make sure the person affected DOES have a sense of humor about it. My first thought was that Uno does sound like a perfect name. I am sure you are disappointed, but at least he does seem healthy, is very cute, and probably does have an extra organ to spare.

Good luck with the little guy!

He is a gorgeous boy and those look like awesome Miamis to my inexperienced eyes. The chances of him being born with only one hemipeni have to be pretty small but if he was hey there are much worse things that can happen. I get the feeling you are taking this all very well and have not lost your perspective!

I think Uno is an awesome name and ROLMAO!

Congrats Lore!!! I am sorry about his little hemipene.. I am glad he has another though... And the miamis are beautiful as well :)

Lets see how funny it would be if the shoe was on the other foot.

It would be every bit as funny if the shoe were on my foot. In fact, if it were, that's exactly what I would name him, precisely because it is funny.

Lore has a life full of things other than cornsnakes, and I know her well enough to know that she's in no danger of losing her perspective over a prolapsed hatchling hemipene. In fact, I've "seen" her deal with things that are a much, much, MUCH bigger deal than that with grace and aplomb. No reason at all to think she'd suddenly go off the deep end about a problem with a hatchling that may not even end up being a problem.

Really take it down a thousand. if your read my post then you would see I said your comment was cute. So my post was not directed towards you. I think ROLMAO is a little out of line. It is more of a cutdown. After all you know what ROLMAO stands for . It does not mean funny but very very funny and I really don't see it being that funny or to be made fun of to that existent. Your comment, I did not see anything wrong with, but to gloat over someone misfortune is not cool. I know, being I was very cold & crude in my younger days and I still can be but chose to take the higher road unless I have to. I'm sure it is not the end of the world for lore. A little compassion would be nice. There is a big difference between a chuckle and ROLMAO. Even if this was a normal corn going to be offed to a petstore, Really is it that funny that a snake with one hemipene is called uno. ROLMAO is a little overboard maybe a giggle at best

Lore, I hope you get a 2nd clutch with better results. Goold luck

Sorry about your little cinder. There's a great possibility that he has backup and like Terri mentioned, one can do the job well enough. Glad to hear that you are remaining possitive :)

The pile-o-Miamis looks great. They have very uniform markings so I think they are going to be excellent once their coloring comes in.

Well one thing I've learned over the years, if you can't roll with the punches and try to make light of a bad situation.... cornsnake breeding is not for you. :shrugs:

And I am sorry, Lore, I've been there done that. Usually on my end, the high end animal will be the only one in the whole clutch that is kinked. :( But keep your chin up because now karma owes you one. I'm so glad you are keeping a sense of humor about it. You either laugh or cry, and crying sucks.

I am so sorry Lore. Here is hoping that his other side is just fine and he eats like a serial killer for you.

Eik, I just liked the way the emoticon looked. Definitely was not thinking that far into it..

Lore, I hope you're not offended in any way, if you are I'm deeply sorry. I definitely hope the little guy makes it and is prolific! I have great faith that considering that he is your snake, he's in great hands. Again, big congratulations.

Indeed, no need to fret over the little things. Heck I 'could' have lost the whole clutch... I WAS in the ER last Thursday  bigger things in life than this prolapsed pene on poor lil' Friday. It helps that he's one handsome fella to make up for his shortcomings :grin01: (hopefully the ladies will think so too) ;) LOL!

Thank you, I am quite smitten with their super squarey borders and nice symmetry, There is 1 that I can immediately nab out of the bunch that just may be a keeper.

Poor guy, I am a fan of the Goonies and would probably call a lil guy that this happened to One Eyed "Willie".

Very cute, I do infact like Goonies... seeing as his eyes are intact I think I'll keep the name Friday.

Oh I'm big on karma theories... those that $h!t on you... karma shall smote them... keeps me on the positive side of things anyway ;)
I'm still just bubbling over with joy that the whole clutch just worked out at all being my first year breeding, the fact that they were laid, incubated & hatched... this whole endeavor was a complete success in *MY* book. I learned SO much from these eggs.

I am so sorry Lore. Here is hoping that his other side is just fine and he eats like a serial killer for you.

Thank you, we shall see in time what he has hiding in there.

As you can see in my earlier post, taking any offense to any kind of joke is just not me & if anything DID upset me I am the type to get it off my chest, get it out in the open and resolve the issue so that we can continue business as usual... (ie, not one to stew on things... like to get things resolved so that I can move on) So if something were to upset me, you'd know :grin01:

Now for an Update on Friday:

I opened Friday's container & was greeted by a tail rattle... perhaps he is getting abit irritated by our morning sessions, lol. This morning I checked the area which was pale and brown, I wiped it with a wet cloth and the pene wiped away onto the cloth. I am happy this has happened escaping any infection.

I have replaced his 'wet' paper towel with a dry one & put him back in his container. I will now leave him alone until after he sheds.

Here are some photos of the area & of Friday & his handsomeness. These will be his last photos until after he sheds.

Thank you everyone for your kind words etc... this lil' snake has gotten alot of attention... I shall not let the others know or they may all shoot their pene's out for the attention :grin01:
