Daytona Donations

I know we will still have fun and be successful. And like I said - I don't begrudge USARK for raising money any way they can. This is something that is important to all of us and I am glad to see others doing their part. I guess I was just proud of us originating this idea and like you said - I feel like this steals some of our thunder. I want US to be recognized for starting this idea last year - not NRBE for riding our coat tails even if they bring in more donations and money than we do.

I know Andrew and USARK appreciate what we are doing and in the long run, that is all that matters.

I really like the US ARK emblem and all of the photos - very eye catching! I am having some difficulty reading the font, though. I know my eyes are old, lol! It is cool looking, but people will just look for a few seconds at each table before moving on - there is SO much to see! So it would be great if the few most important lines were in big, bold, colorful type that is really easy to read. And then the less important stuff could be smaller, since they will only read the whole thing if the biggest text stops them in their tracks.

The whole thing looks pretty attractive to me, if it could just be a little easier to quickly read the main points at a glance. What does everyone else think?

Yeah the font is still being tweaked, there's a lot of information to squeeze in there. Another option that may be better suited is to make one flyer with the basics and one another with the specifics and rules
 
I hadn't really thought of that possibility...

Maybe the first sign could just say:

Buy Your
Daytona Corn Snake Dinner Raffle Tickets Here!
to benefit
U S A R K (really big letters, or maybe their emblem here)
$______each

Then the second sign could say all of the other stuff. The main sign might be more eye catching that way.

What does everyone think about that?

Winners will be drawn AFTER the dinner at the raffle party. All are welcome, something like that.
 
I bought three more bottles of Red Belly Black Shiraz. (Snake-themed wine, also delicious!!) I am going to get airline bags for them, so they can be taken on planes, if they have to.
 
I've never been so I can only speculate on how y'all set things up but IMO I would place these flyers out to draw people in then have another couple flyers as displays on the sign up table for people to read and get the specifics, just my .02

Hey guys! I'm coming to Daytona!!!

Well I was on Facebook and was talking to Kathy..I told her how I was going to be in FL from August 13th through the 30th and she told me how Daytona is going on during that time. I really really REALLY want to go!! But I do have a bit of an issue (or two..lol)...

For one..I am just curious if anyone that is going has any room in their hotel to split cost with me.. I can definitely put some money towards a hotel but can't pay the whole rate for a room of my own..So I'm curious if anyone would like to split cost with me...

Also..I am going to be in the Cape Coral area of FL and am not sure if I'm going to have a way to get there. My mom may just let me borrow her car and if she does that will be fantastic and a big help..But if she cannot..I was wondering if anyone from the Cape Coral, Fort Myers area that is going would be willing to have me come along as a passenger. I am more then willing to give some money for gas for there and back. Let me know if anyone is available for this or to share a hotel.

Thanks again everyone!! I can't believe I finally may get a chance to go to the biggest reptile convention around and meet so many of you all in one shot!! I'm so excited! I really hope this works out well! :)

Maybe cornsnake dinner CLUB? Is the H. Bernard Bechtel Award being presented at the dinner?
 
The official name of the whole thing is Cornsnake Supper Club. The award is presented right after the dinner.
 
That reminds me:

You may want to post this in the actual Daytona thread. This thread was originally just about donations for the raffle.
In the event you do need to book a room - August 1st is the cutoff date that I can guarantee rooms at our discounted rate. After that date - rates and rooms are based on availability.
 
TABLE SIGN...

So it should say "Cornsnake Supper Club" instead of Cornsnakes.com. And "proceeds" looks like it has an extra "e" in it.

Any other comments or suggestions?
 
FYI - by my count right now I have 19 people who have offered donations for the raffle. I don't necessarily know what exactly all those donations will be yet as some people are waiting to see what snakes are eating well for them etc...
These are just the donations that I have had offered to us or that I have contacted people about. This does not include anything Kathy has been able to confirm.
