Cohabbing is cruelty...
I tried responding to the other thread, but for some reason the site wouldn't let me.

The first picture is of my 15 year old amel Calvin. He was my very first corn snake. He is not as pretty as he used to be, his colors have dulled a bit. But he is my sweetheart and he will always be a favorite!

The second is my boy DayTony. He was a gift from Jeff Mohr at Daytona this year. He is an okeetee.

The third is my 2006 granite stripe Steve. I hatched him myself, and did not know at the time that his parents were both het for stripe and anery.

The fourth is my boy Kato. He is a possible bloodred stripe. Either that or he is a really nice normal stripe. His father, Sniper, is a bloodred. This picture adorns my Capitol One credit card!

And last but not least is my bloodred boy Sniper. I hatched him myself in 2002 and he is the father of Steve and Kato.

I have a lot of favorite adult corns, so it's hard to narrow it down to just a few. I get five pictures per post, so I will keep it down to just five:

Bloody Awesome: male bloodred stripe het amel
Bloody Awesome 4.jpg

Hot Mama: female sunglow stripe possible het bloodred, who will be bred to Bloody Awesome this coming season in hopes of proving out her het bloodred status and producing fire stripes and blood stripes.

Midas: golddust het stripe male

Marigold: butter stripe female, who will be bred to Midas this coming season in hopes of producing golddust stripes and butter stripes.

WOW!! I love your collection!!
The only thing is, if you breed Hot Mama to Bloody Awesome you won't know if she is het for blood because of the stripes. Both stripes and bloodred leave the belly checkerless. To prove out her bloodred status, you would need to breed her to a bloodred with no striped gene in his background. Then if 100% of the babies are bloods, she is homo blood. If any of the babies are normal then she is het bloodred.

Thanks! The blood stripe babies that I have seen seem to have gray heads and look different than regular normal-colored stripes, so I am thinking if I get any of those from the pairing I will be able to tell she is het blood.

The thing is, there are normals with grey heads too, and blood stripes without grey heads. The only way to know for sure what the babies are would be to grow them up and do breeding trials.
The fastest way to prove or disprove Mama's bloodiness, is to go get ahold of a bloodred or diffused male (or a granite male, or pewter, or...well you get it!)

I really really love Miss Hiss!!!

Thanks! I really want to pursue the stripes project, because I really like stripes, but your did get me thinking..... maybe I should try a two-father clutch for her this coming season. I have this hypo plasma male, who is not het for stripe. Anything unstriped would obviously be from him, hopefully prove or disprove her het blood status and maybe give me some future project babies that carry an lot of nice genes and possibilites. Maybe.....

Oh he is amazingly LOVELY!!!!!!
This is what I would do if I were you, I would only breed her to him. If you do a 2 father clutch, some of the non striped babies might be from Bloody Awesome and you would never know it, and at the same time some of the striped babies might be bloodred stripes, or not.
If you sacrifice one year, and just breed her to your hypo plasma, the results will tell you definately whether she is homo or het bloodred, AND you will have some lovely project babies from it because even if she is not homo bloodred, half the babies would be bloods anyway, and those would definately be het for stripe, and any of THEIR striped babies would definately striped bloods, striped plasmas, striped hypo plasmas......

Wendy,
I may be able to help you out with this...

Edit: Oops, I see you already have it figured out!
