Which reptile show is the best?

I've been to the reptile show we have in the Detroit area, but it's small. I'm just wondering which show(s) would be worth traveling for. If money allows hopefully I'll be able to go this year. Thank you.

Well that's an emphatic response! Daytona is one I am looking at, but travel from Michigan might be too much. Maybe I can get the money together anyway. :D

Been to that Detroit show a couple of times. Kalamazoo is a little smaller, Grand Rapids and Lansing are real small. I'm curious how the Tinley Park (Chicago) show is. Anyone?

Mitch

The Grand Rapids one isn't worth admission. I only pay it to get my 6 month supply of F/T mice. I've hear the Taylor michigan one is pretty decent. Also I know theres one in Hamburg PA that I've heard is pretty decent. Not sure how far that would be travel wise for you, also I've heard Tinley park is a good one. I know Kathy Love has had a booth at that one. Everyone on here loves Daytona, I know that. Someday maybe when I grow up I'll get to that one...lol

From what I keep hearing, out of everyone, year round, like there is no end in sight... Daytona is the best. I plan on going to that show one day... I actually am excited about it... Though it will be after I finish my degree and hopefully get myself a job with some Federal Wildlife type thing... I would love to get myself "stationed" back east again... I love it out that way...lol

If you can't afford Daytona the Tinley NARBC in IL is, at this point, as big as Daytona with may of the same vendors. Given the rough treatment by the DNR and lousy sales at last year's Daytona show many vendors I have spoken to will not be returning to this year's show. I love Daytona and regardless of the show, there are always lots of people from here to visit with. You should do a thread search and see all the chat surrounding the different shows to decide what would be best both financially and entertainmentwise for you.

Most definitely Daytona! Great show plus the CS.com Corn Snake Supper Club dinner and raffle!

Daytona was actually pretty disapointing to us. Only meeting good people like Bethany and many others made the trip. The show was large...but did not have much variety. Lots of corns and balls...not much else, I had seen most of the big famous breeders at other shows. I prefered Repticon right here in Baltimore really. I have heard lots of good things about Tinsley, so we might try that one someday.

I agree with Tara. We really scrimped and saved to get there, and, were it not for meeting a lot of the great people here on Cornsnakes, we would have been REALLY disapointed with the trip. We ended up driving to save money, and the drive was long, tedious and stressful... all in all, not worth the money for what it is.

Maybe it was better years back before Florida went ban-happy, we really can't say. But I don't see us returning.

Would like to get out to Tinley sometime-- meet some of the CS.com North Chapter.

Will also agree with Tara that the best show I've been to was the Repticon show in Baltimore last May. I'd look around and see if Repticon is coming your way.

Daytona is definitely worth it...if not for the snakes...for the people! I also enjoy our local show at Columbia, SC since it has hots as well as regular stuff.
