I saw a whole show on cable about that. I don't remember the channel or name, though. But this guy has a "camp" where he stays with his sled dogs. Polar bears migrate through. It's adult male bears traveling loosely together. They stop near the camp and wait for the ice to freeze (maybe Hudson Bay, then???) and leave after the ice is frozen. They come every fall. They routinely play with the dogs. The guy decided to let them all work it out for themselves instead of trying to interfere, protect the dogs, drive the bears off.
