We found this little fella at Petsmart. He is a gift for my nephew. He was labeled as a normal! The workers there didn't even know what a morph was, sadly.

Do you guys have any idea? He is really pink, like a salmon color, and he has the greyish saddles, silver eyes and a grey checkerboard belly. Sorry about the quality, they were taken with my phone and he is very wiggly!

I think he is a Fancy. Lol. I was thinking Blood Red Ghost until I saw the later pics. He looks completely different in them.

Looks like some kind of Lavender to me, possibly hypo lavender?

I was thinking lavender too, or hypo lavender. Very cool though and definitely not a normal

For sure a Lavender, AND looks like it could actually be an Orchid (Sunkissed Lavender) which would explain, if it is a Orchid, the greyish/frosty blotch color.
Of course test breeding could only confirm this, but for sure at the very least a Lavender.

Here is a pic. of one of my Orchids, so you can kinda compare.

And yes, it is very sad that a large pet company can not hire employees that have a clue about the animals they are selling :headbang:

When I worked for PetSmart, Lasco & Reptile Industries were about 7 out of 10 times good with labeling what was in the shipment. Now whether that gets translated to the feed sheet and sales floor is another issue.

One of the PetSmarts out here in Frisco had what looked to be a hypo striped lav back when I first moved out here in January. Then another out in Allen had a sunkissed and what appeared to be a cinder. The cinder was huge, pushing 2ft. Unfortunately I was making payments to Mr. Ugly ERO and neither for those finds fit into my projects.

I'm seconding Walter. I was waffling between lavender/hypo lavender and orchid as it has some characteristics of that.

I know nothing about how the commercial reptile trade works. But these are the questions that come to my mind.
.
Lavenders have been around for a while, right? I would not have thought that they would be common enough to show up in a petstore - bulk purchases and all... And arent orchids still very new? With their price and rarity, HOW does one of those end up in the stock for a pet store supplier?

Regardless of what morph, she/he is a pretty snake and a delightful find.

My local petsmart broker is a friend of mine and he will send them what ever he has when it gets to be this time of year. Petsmart says we want x # of snakes and they don't care about morph or sex. Just have to keep the tanks full. I always check the big chains right now cause brokers are running on low. I have found what seems to be an Orchid and a really nice salmon snow.

I was thinking the same thing as nancyg, Orchid seems like a very pricey morph still to end up wholesaled but I guess it does sometimes happen ... Never seems to around here though! Here I was thinking a Hypo Lavender a bit of a stretch.

Im jealous... I do part time for my petco... we only get amels, reverse okeetee's, nothing fun at all.. :( Im jealous... seems like Petsmart is getting more fun stuff than we do..
beautiful snake, and I was thinking Hypo lavender too but the frosty spots in the blotches made me wonder..
