Suuuper excited!!

Ya know, people...there is a little function called "Ignore". No one is forcing anyone to read any specific members' posts or to reply to them. I seem to be spending all of my time lately on moderator duty, reading threads I don't want to and dealing with more horse hockey than I used to shovel in a month when I owned a horse. I'm sharpening my ax and dang it, heads will start rolling if I wake up tomorrow to any more reported posts, inflammatory posting, or ANYTHING other than some photos of pretty snakes! :realhot::madeuce:

King rats are cool, but im not interested in them for the same reason im not interested in drys. They STINK!!!! You can smell when one "goes" two rooms away! No thanks.

Considering it took me all of 10 seconds to find someone selling king rats for $85...I don't think it's much of a secret.

But, like I said, you're going to do what you want to do and theres no point in arguing really. So, good luck, and I do mean that, for the sake of the snake.

hmm.. i thought i remembered them being more $$$. O well.

And it only took me like 10 seconds too to find larry keller selling them for $85. Oops, did i just let the cat out of the bag?

David, I'm really at a loss of words here. You take care of ten snakes and one frog. From the sound of it, your friends and family just gives you the snakes and probably even the materials and money so you can buy food and other things for the current pet you are taking care of. I think, instead of just taking the snake from your grandpa, you should purchase it from him, and buy your own supplies and everything for your snake.

When I finally convinced my parents to allow me to have a pet snake, I had to do all the research, buy all the materials, the food and all the random stuff that I would need for my corn snake. My step-mom used to own two boas (not the same, I know) but the information and knowledge she knew really helped me along. I found this site as well, and thats what really helped me of care for my corn snake. I am very proud of myself for doing the research myself and buying everything for my snake. I started out with a ten gallon, and in total with all the supplies it cost me at least 160 dollars. (including the snake). I now have her in a nice big 30 gallon (long) and she is in paradise. The tank is literally covered with things I bought myself, and i'm fairly impressed on how it looks so far.

To me, it sounds like your parents buy all your snakes and materials, and I think that really doesnt help you be responsible. I say pick up a job and earn your money and buy the snake from your grandpa, or do some work for him at his house. Earn your snake, I can understand if its a gift or something, but please consider making it up to him.

I really do hope you read all this, and I hope you'll wont just disagree and argue of what i've said, I took atleast five minutes spilling my heart over this.

-John

"You must spread some reputation around before giving it to Elusive again"

VERY well thought out and written post, Elusive. I applaud you, and your effort, though I fear your WONDERFUL advice will fall on deaf ears...

Beautifully stated, Elusive!! Is that a typo on your age? You're 14? I hope my kids have a tenth of that level of maturity at that age.

Sigh.....

I can't believe this is all happening again..It seems whenever this kid makes a thread it becomes an infection to this forum...A spot where words and advice get out of hand and start turning into something ugly and foul..I believe as members of this forum, each of us has a responsibility to keep this site as friendly and welcoming as we can..The more negative posts that go up, the more a new person looking for advice will come across one of those threads and get a bad first impression of us...We are all very kind and understanding people here and are very loving and loyal to our hobby (for some career) in reptile care. We can't let people like Dave come in and start reeking havoc on something the creators have worked so hard to make..

I truely think that if we are to show our true concern for the well being of reptiles, we should just ignore matters like this to ensure the space is saved for more important subjects and matters..I know to many this might not seem like a big thing, and to others it seems like a huge thing that needs to be corrected..In the end it is niether..It is just a waste of forum space...It's nothing to get worked up about, it's nothing to even pay too much attention to..Instead, try and divert your attention to our fellow newcomers that want to actually learn something...because in the end...isn't that what we're all here for???????

;) You really do want want to ignore him sometimes, but you just cant help but steal a look!

:nyah:

Look!! See!! It not me this time....

you mean your claw....:D

man! that old.

Good morining

I don't know my rat snake species as well as I should, but if David had opened this thread saying he was getting a stinking goddess instead of a king rat, even MY alarm bells would have been ringing.....

How much better a choice is this animal over a yellow anaconda? I don't know much about either species myself (but then, I never said I was a "master")

And as far as David personally, I'm glad it's not just me!

If I was your parent, you wouldn't be allowed to keep a pet rock...

And what about a pet log?

Sigh.....

I was thinking something simular.
Everytime Snakemaster posts a thread, it ends up with a 1000posts (almost)
It's just crazy.

Wanna share a bucket of popcorn?

I have to be careful what I say, as David may report me again and I'll end up with another infraction.....
I would say neither snake is suitable for David.... His self belief out weighs his actual knowledge.... IMO He is a danger to his self and his animals, he is delusional about his abilities.
Anyone who still thinks they are right when every else is saying they are wrong, is living life at a different level...
Personal note to David.....
You are not welcome at a lot of forums, and the best forum in the world (your words) has the Admin thinking about banning you... It's only a matter of time before this forum takes you up on your frequent offer, and terminates your account...... After all it takes a special person to start a fight in an empty room ;)

I like this thread. I hope it comes with pictures over time.

I'll get working on those pictures right away for ya!

I was thinking train wreck.

Why do you think he started his own forum? You disagree with him, "BAN!"

Elusive, thank you for showing us that 14 year olds still do have some idea of what "respect" and "maturity" are. I guess David was skipping school when those lessons were being taught.
