I am expecting a pair of lavas I plan on naming Neolo and Nyota.
My rosy boas are named Ed, Fred, Sadie, Annie, Bernice and Edison.
My Florida King is Maytag.
Wow. That's quite a few snakes you got there. I recognize some of the names from movies and other things.
By the way,why did you name the FL king Maytag?
I know snakes wont respond to a name but if your keeping it as a pet it should have a name, its part of the family :laugh:Bethany... do you keep a list in your pocket?? Or do you do what I do and mentally run through the vivs in your head? lol!
Our names are all on iHerp... at this point it's far too many to keep track of for us.

The nice thing about snakes is that they don't really know their names or respond to them, so you can call them anything. With dogs and birds and all you're supposed to have short names, preferably names that end in "ie" or "ey," for that "eee" sound... apparently they respond well to those. Since snakes don't respond at all, call it what you want to call it.![]()
Naming snakes is fun....even if they don't care.
My always intend to name a new addition something classy and meaningful....like Ophelia or Dahlia. Then I get them- and they become Paddy or Minnie. Stupid sounding names, but they suit them.
Let's see....
Yas, Briza, Eclipse, Jacques, Alouette, Galeana, Denali, Aurora, Mirage, Ronon, Legacy, Furian, Flamingo, Mitla, Cervino, Rhiannon, Clementine, Solstice, Tempe, Avery, Phaneuf, Belenus, Belisama, Linares, Starbuck, Apollo, Orion, Ballantine, Ramble, Jude, Prudence, Sadie, Vardar, Cierzo, Kona, Kashmir, Equinox, Pele, Kodiak, Valerie, Tucson, Dax, Aereon, Casey, Rio, Ripley, Zoso, Weirdo, Dinah, Sori and Daisy.....
Woo....I think that is all of them!
Yas? Lol. Nice names. Tucson, did you used to live in arizona or something? Starbuck..funny names
Yas is a Navajo word for snow (he is a snow cornsnake)
Tucson - I used to have some more okeetee cornsnakes and their colors are so bright that I wanted "bright" names. I have Tempe and Tucson and used to have Sedona and Phoenix as well.
Starbuck, Apollo, Ronon, Dax, Aereon and Furian are all from sci-fi shows/movies. They are my grayband kingsnakes.
I like to keep "groups" of snakes together with names - potential breeding groups and what not.
Wow. Just wow.Quite a few reptiles. Any advice on a first snake? As in sub-species (I think its sub species, isn't it? Corn snake being the species, then something like blood red or albino being sub-species?) I bet thats going to make me sound like a ^fool^
That would actually be morph.
Sub-species would be "Boa constrictor imperator" or "Boa constrictor constrictor".
For a first snake, I would definitely go with a corn snake. My first snake was a snow corn snake (Luci). That was just over 3 years ago.
