Surprise!! Hidden hets and the miracle baby.

Hallie

SNOW!!!!
So, I went in to check on my eggs Saturday morning, and was a little disappointed that the single remaining 'good' egg from my normal het. phantom motley x the same appeared to have gone bad. I wasn't expecting much from these eggs, as mom gave me 10 slugs and 6 'good' eggs, all of which went bad in the first few weeks, except for one (and the remaining egg didn't appear to be developing, there were no signs of veins when candled), so I wasn't too terribly upset. However, upon a slight poking of said egg, I realized that it hadn't gone bad, it was slit open!! And then this appeared from under the moss:

Imagine my surprise...that wasn't what should have come out of that egg!! So, apparently mom and dad are both also het. amel. :D I was literally in tears when I saw this little one (who popped female, but will be checked a few more times to be sure), who not only hatched, but managed to be blessed with some killer genes (at a chance of 3/256).

Needless to say, this baby will be staying here with me. Without further ado, I introduce to you, Míorúilt (means 'Miracle', s/he will be called 'Moe'), 2009 Blizzard Motley poss het hypo.

I do, not on this computer though (and not on my Photobucket for some reason...), I'll post some later today. They aren't anything fancy, just normals with fun hets. :)

Way to beat the odds! I hope she thrives for you. :)

Thank you.

Huge Congrats! Now THAT'S the way to beat ALL the odds!

Thanks Susan. I'm still in shock at what popped out of that egg!!
