A Pet Peeve - Spelling Errors

How about sale and sell?

As in "I have lots of animals for sell. So I will write an add (eek!) and sale them."

Definately is another one that I see often, and one I used to fall prey to myself. It's one of those words I have to say differently in my head to spell correctly. De-Finite-ly. Also Be-e-a-yuuuutiful was the only way I remembered that word as a kid... and it's permanently etched into my brain.

OH! and alot! There was an awesome blog post about the frequent use of alot and how she deals with the irritation. http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/04/alot-is-better-than-you-at-everything.html

I abhor chatspeak, especially because now everone advertising something to teenagers feels that the only way they will understand it is if they write it in chatspeak. There is a poster by the campus police on the bus I ride to and from campus that is written in chatspeak and the most aggravating thing about it is that they don't even use it correctly! They've basically made up their own shortened words that nobody ever uses. They shorten "broken" to "brokN" yet they leave the words most commonly shortened spelled out correctly! Also, this is a COLLEGE bus, not a middle school bus. I find it rather insulting that they think they will get their message across better with ridiculous spelling.

Worst Ever? My iPhone often "corrects" the word 'its' to 'it's' (it just tried to do it again!), and if I'm typing too quickly to catch that it's going to I have to go back and correct it. THIS is a Problem.
