Asking for thoughs and prayers

I am coming here to ask for prayers for my niece and nephew. Their father was killed Monday afternoon. He was riding home from work on his Harley and was stuck by a car that ran a red light. He was thrown 30 feet from his bike suffering multiple injuries but died instantly from a broken neck. The man driving the car drove until his car wouldn't go anymore then fled on foot, leaving his car and injured passenger at the scene. He was picked up by police yesterday on a warrant for a previous drug charge, also has a domestic violence charge against him waiting to go to trial. The driver and the passenger are the only living witnesses to the accident and at this point it is one's word against the other.

Please please please keep them in your prayers. This has been very hard on our family. My niece is getting married in August and her father will no longer be there to walk her down the isle.....

Thanks,
Josie

I will definitely keep your family in my prayers. What a hard thing for those kids to go through and an even harder thing to get married and not have your dad there.

That's terribly sad. I'm very sorry for your loss!!! Will certainly keep you in my thoughts, and my deepest condolences for you and your family.

I'm sorry Josie! My heart goes out to your entire family. What a tragedy and a difficult thing to happen. My condolences!

Thank you............I knew I could turn to my friends here for thoughts and prayers....I'm just an emotional wreck! My heart breaks for them and what they are going through. Luckily they are both grown, 22 and 18 and not small children but they are still suffering so very much.

So sorry for the horrible loss...

I lost my dad when I was in my 30s, and it was really, really difficult even then, even though we knew his heart was bad. I can't even imagine losing a parent so unexpectedly at an even younger age.

My sympathies extend to all of his friends and family!

Josie, I'm sorry for your loss. I will absolutely keep you and your family in my thoughts. I hope justice prevails in this situation. *hugs*

What a tragedy. There aren't enough words to express my sorrow for his family and my anger with the driver who didn't even stop.

I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers, Josie. I have a feeling you will all need as many as you can get as you all go through this.

Condolences Josie. What a dreadful, needless tragedy. I hope the person responsible gets his just desserts.

Oh no, Josie! I saw you post the accident, but I didn't know it was a relative...I don't understand how people like that get to ever drive again. I'll pray for your niece and nephew.

That's awful! I'm sooo very sorry for the loss you are all suffering. My heart goes out to you. I hope that the guy that did this suffers & gets exactly what he deserves, though I doubt even that will bring much comfort. Many blessings to you & your family. Take care.

What can I say more then the others already have.. especially if the grief you and your family must feel can not be described in words, just felt. I don't pray but my sincere thoughts of comfort and wishes for you and yours to be able to keep the faith are coming your way!

It saddens me so much to read this. Yes, you and those kids are in my thoughts and prayers.
My dad died suddenly as well, he was 52. His best friend walked me down the aisle on my wedding day....very bittersweet day.

this prayer helped me when i lost my grandmother last year.....
Dear Lord,
Please help me in this time of loss and overwhelming grief. I don't understand why my life is filled with this pain and heartache. But I turn my eyes to you as I seek to find the strength to trust in your faithfulness. I will wait on you and not despair; I will quietly wait for your salvation. My heart is crushed, but I know that you will not abandon me forever. Please show me your compassion, Lord. Help me through the pain so that I will hope in you again. I believe this promise in your Word to send me fresh mercy each day. Though I can't see past today, I trust your great love will never fail me.
Amen.
