BP Breeding! (Thanks, Joe!)

RobbiesCornField

Bring it on.
Well, it FINALLY happened! I'd been putting together my original pair of BP's for the past couple of months, and I didn't really see any action. So after getting a new decent sized male from CaptBogart, I decided to switch out the males, and THIS is what I walked in on this morning.

Sire (no known hets)

Congrats on the hookup! Are your females developing follicles?

I'm not that experienced with the BP breeding to know what the follicles feel like. LOL. But I have noticed her getting a bit bigger girth wise. When she did it the first time, I had thought it was that the eggs were developing nicely, but when she lost all that girth at once, I realized she was only ovulating. This pair is gonna be separated and put together every 3 days or so until she pops out some pearly whites. LOL

WOOT! Congrats Robbie!

Thanks, Katie! Be sure to tell Joe his boy is gettin the job done. LOL

Since putting them together, I've checked on them... maybe 5 times. Every single time, I've seen them locked up. Normally, I leave the drawer in, but I couldn't really see anything going on this time, because they moved the water dish, and spilled it in the process. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I'm not a snake voyeur, I swear!

I think this counts as an ovulation! Female (Queen Victoria) is on the bottom.

Follicles will feel like a string of pearls and continue to get larger almost golf ball size. Once the female ovulates she is gravid and any breeding after that are useless. Here are a couple pics ovulating females. The Lump only stays about 2-3 days.
Be Prepared for some large eggs too.

This is gonna be fun! :D To me, she looks big and squishy. I just want to make sure it's going to take. I'm going to separate them tomorrow, and throw 'em back together again in a few days. Just in case.
