F/T to Live?

It really is.... I think maybe the mods should consider locking all threads involving live feeding and co-habbing as soon as they pop up. It will save a lot of time and energy. Those new members will just have to learn the search function.

its a type of lizard or gecko or whatever, its davids passion, he sells them breeds them and everythings them, if u need one he is your sir

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic. A good example of this is baby Tokay Geckos, if left in with their parents after they hatch, will eat poop. They will actually eat the parents poop, which helps grow flora and fauna in their guts, which actually make them digest and metabolize food better than they would if they went straight into a sterile environment after they hatch.

What kinds of flora do they grow in their guts? Is it like daisies and orchids, or more along the lines of peanuts and soybeans?

Well this has been a truly fascinating thread, and I feel that I've learned so much!

In all seriousness, though, I think all responsible keepers prefer F/T, and only feed live as a last resort. I had to feed live in order to get my O. Moellendorffi going, and then switch them to P/K, and THEN switch them to F/T. Would it have been easier to just keep them on live? Sure. But I didn't want to watch almost a thousand dollars worth of snakes (not to mention one of the few CBB lines in the US) die because of a bite when they got on to bigger prey items.

Plus... the mice are cute. And if I bring home live mice, my partner has to play with them. And if he plays with them, we keep them. So NOOOOO LIVE here.

Duh!!!! I don't feed anything live unless it won't usually take frozen. I don't enjoy feeding live, it's a pain in the ass. I also don't call my personal experience law, it's just personal experience.

Condescending much?

Robs, I know for a fact that young David here wishes that all of us at cs.com would just fall into a well. Makes me wonder why he keeps coming back...
