FINALLY....our first eggs have arrived!!

Gralena

Corn Snake Diva
I am so excited this morning....I awoke to Parfait laying eggs!! I have been so worried and was beginning to wonder if she was even gravid (as many of you know since you have been kindly answering thousands of questions)....Today marks 11 days after her pre-lay shed and 37 days after her first confirmed mating. Not too bad for a first time mom. She has 2 eggs so far but they look beautiful and white! Ironically, in the photo you can clearly see she has more eggs to go....but all along she has not looked or felt at all gravid?!? Where did all those bumps come from? lol

Worst thing is...I go to work in 5 hours (at 12:30) What if she is not done by then? Will they be okay until 10pm tonight without being able to remove them?

I can't wait to hear how many there are, total!! She sure looks like she has eggs in there now!!! Congratulations!

It looks as if she has moved all of the nesting material to the side or you might have to see her. If they aren't kept moist they will dimple in by the time you get home, but they should be ok if you collect them tonight. Keeping them moist is what I would be worried about while at work today.
Congrats on the eggs!!! Now waiting on them to hatch can make you pull your hair out.

Thanks guys! She is up to 6 laid now...I'm thinking it is possible she will be done before I leave. She actually pushed all the moss to the side like that...I wish she hadn't, I am worried about them getting dried out as well. Ahhh....the waiting. :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!! If she's not done by the time you leave, the eggs will be fine when you get home. Especially considering she's at least in the lay box.

Thanks Robbie...yeah, I have a feeling she won't be done when I leave. She is up to 11 eggs now and I can see more coming. :) Here is a new pic

Oh...and 1 or 2 look a little questionable, kinda smallish and yellowish. BUT everything will go into the incubator :)

Those are some really cool pictures. I haven't had the chance to see any of mine lay. The one passing the egg is my favorite.

In the last pictures the small yellowish one is certainly infertile and need not be put in the incubator. Congratulations on the eggs!

Big congratulations! I know what you mean about "where did those bumps come from?" I wish I had looked as non-pregnant as my snake before I had my own litter!

WOW....what a long day at work waiting to come home to see the eggs!

Parfait laid 23 eggs in all today!! I couldn't believe there were so many, especially since she is a first time mom! However, 3 are small, yellowish and appear infertile. So 20 healthy eggs!! Parfait is doing great although she looks very, very thin now...she ate 2 fuzzy mice and is resting in her old hide box. She was also very thirsty. Here is a pic right before I put the eggs in the incubator...
