I didn't call you an a-hole. I wrote that your type think that they have a free pass to be a-holes. I also used implied profanity, because while some of that is tolerated here, outright profanity is not. And I wrote that your opening post was framed in confrontational b.s.. Do you deny that your opening post in this thread was INTENDED to be confrontational? Heck, your thread TITLE was confrontational.

I'm sincerely glad you see through me, because I'm a believer in 100% transparency when you're in a position of authority, even when that position is something as unimpressive as moderator of a snake forum. And let me provide you a little insight into the concept of wrapping insults in advice: sometimes it's the DIPLOMATIC way to do things. I know you're not much for diplomacy, but most communities, virtual or otherwise, demand it. Keep in mind that I was elected to a mod position by the members here. I didn't nominate myself, and I didn't campaign. You may not like my type, but a lot of other people here seem to think I'm ok. How many votes do you think you'd get?

I DON'T have anything personal against you. I don't really know you. You don't seem to like me, but I don't take that personally. And for the record, I'm really not against co-habbing if it's done by an experienced keeper who knows the early signs of the potential problems. But my snakes are quarantined forever in the most important sense of the word (i.e., physical separation) except for breeding encounters. The "I'm going to take these guys to school" tone of your original post just seemed ridiculous to me coming from a guy who lets his snakes crawl through each others' waste (and don't tell me it doesn't happen).

Dude, you're just not getting it. Nobody is against you. Nobody has anything personal against you. Nobody likes someone to come to the forum and act rude to others, but that's not personal, it's how we manage.

I understand what you're trying to do, but really...it isn't like that. Dean and the other mods here do as little modding as possible, and TRY to allow the site to police itself. And we typically do a pretty durn good job. WE as a community, WANT you to fit in, feel welcome, and conduct yourself in an appropriate manner. WE, as a community, WANT you to be a member in good standing. WE LIKE people with different opinions. WE LIKE people that make us think and re-think the manner in which things in this hobby are done. WE LIKE discussion, debate, and the exchange of ideas and concepts. NONE of us wants this hobby to stagnate, and we ENJOY discussions that make us questions ourselves and each other.

We DON'T like rudeness. That's all. Be nice, be polite, don't curse outright...and everything else is fine. I really don't think those rules are too harsh for anyone...but if they are too harsh for you, I'm sorry to see you go.

Oooh! You've cut me to the quick! :laugh: I guess you missed the point, but that's no big shocker. My point was that I don't care if one beligerent, irrational person around here doesn't like my type. Most people around here seem to think I'm an ok guy. You seem to be almost universally scorned around here, and if I were in that position, I'd probably want to do a little self-reflection. Of course, I don't expect that from you. I'm baffled by why you'd even want to stay here. You seem like you have some valuable experience, but there are hundreds here with as much or more. We don't NEED you here. I think most of us stay here because we like being part of this community. That doesn't seem to matter to you. If you're only here because it's fun for you to berate those with less experience, or you enjoy going "toe-to-toe" with forum moderators, then your stay will be short anyway.

I'm against double het. I DEFINITELY think it speaks to someone's personal character when they scapegoat the only person willing to stick up for them.

Obviously the ridiculous content of double het's original post in this thread had little to do with the issue he/she actaully wanted to raise. Upon his/her's "second time" of looking at this thread he does not make ANY statements whatsoever about the initial question.

So yes, I'm not afraid to admit I'm against double het and what he/she stands for. Does that mean he/she doesn't have a place here in my mind? Well of course not, well all need some entertainment every once in awhile. :smash:
