Thanks! The final breeding was Friday night, so now all I have to do is feed Liliana, feed her more, and wait. Jeez, the waiting is going to be the hardest part!
 
Yeah, my surprise "SHE" that we thought was a "HE" for the last 4 yrs... is now refusing food and has been in her laying box going over 3 days now... Her spine has been raised for about 4 days and she seriously looks like she is about to EXPLODE! She is so big! So I am just waiting, worrying & wondering around the house lost....LOL (My first ever eggs)

And as if THIS isn't bad enough... now they tell me I have ANOTHER 8 weeks give or take... before the eggs actually HATCH!!! :devil01: AAHHHRRRG Oh The Humanity of it all! LOL

........................and to think, I used to consider myself a patient person! HAHAHAHAHAHHA... Well thats all gone now! :awcrap: hehehehe

Congrats again... Your Snows are Drop Dead Gorgeous! Our Prego "Whytsnake" is the one I have as my avitar... But THAT was when she was actually THIN! hahahha

I totally agree - waiting is HORRIBLE. I'm currently focused on waiting for eggs, but I know all too well how impatient I'm going to be waiting for the first pippie.... And why the heck can't they all just pop out of the eggs instantanously? I'm quite sure I'll check the room about a gazillion times from first nose to final hatchling! I'm not certain my nerves can take this.....but I'm delighted to have the chance to find out!
 
Here's a photo of Liliana for her ACR registry. It does NOT include piles of my sons' stuff this time. ;) She's spending her time hanging out and getting larger around her posterior. This shows her color accurately. I just can't get rid of the red-eye!

No, the mess didn't walk away under its own steam. (I'm fairly confident that such a thing might have been possible at some points in my daughters' room, but not the boys. :wink: )Jeremiah was home for the first time in over a year. He decided to sort through his old dresser and closet. He piled things in the floor to give away. Sterling had just come from college and "unpacked." They're actually both pretty tidy fellows, and the mess wasn't really there very long; it just gained immortality by being in the photo!

Please believe me, my vivs are all immaculately kept! Pay no attention to the humans' mess!

Actually I still have a few, It's funny you mentioned that I was just getting ready to post them and had noticed the one larger female really has some nice colors showing...alot of yellow on her belly scales and the pinks on these snakes are awesome!
 
Update: Liliana is now blue for her pre-lay shed. She's quite obviously swollen and gravid. For now she's staying in her favorite hide rather than checking out the nest box. I'm counting on her knowing when to move. Hopefully there will be eggs soon!
 
update: Liliana shed during the night. Now if I can only keep from driving her crazy until the eggs are laid..... :grin:
 
EGGS!!

Liliana is no longer an expectant mama. I had a feeling that today might be the day; she'd retired to a back corner of the nest box last night and left off "periscoping" out the opening. I came home from school to find her all finished laying. There are 7 beautiful eggs, 4 or 5 more that are hopeful, and several that are downright iffy at best for a total of 18. Remembering the advice of veterans here, I put everything in the incubator and will monitor the progress of all.

If I get a chance I'll post some photos soon. Yay! I've got eggs in the incubator!! Now I've only got about two months to hatchlings - Lord and Murphy willing.
 
Things are looking less than promising. The iffy eggs have been tossed, as they went from iffy to disgusting. The "good" eggs have developed rather a lot of mold in shades of blue, green or white. I've replaced the substrate, lowered the humidity, and top-dressed the new substrate with athlete's foot powder. I've tried using a cotton swab to wipe the mold away; back it comes. The eggs are still fairly filled out, and there's no smell or anything. I'm keeping them incubating, but I'm not really expecting hatchlings from these anymore.
 
I did try, but between the staining from the moss and the mold, I couldn't really see much of anything. Admittedly, the flashlight was weak. I cut a 1/4 inch hole in an index card to get a beam of light, but it wasn't strong. I'll try to get a better light source and try again. Thanks, Robbie.

Get one of those little $2.97 laser pointers with a flash light on it that they have at the WalMart checkouts. They work GREAT!
