Whoo hoo!

Found this in my egg box this morning! I had a 1 in 64 chance of this happening! And here it is! A Hypo Charcoal Lavender! I'm SO happy! Last year this pair, a pair of normals het for hypo, lavender, and charcoal did very poorly for me. Only a few eggs hatched and nothing exceptional. This year almost every egg is a morph of one sort or other! I'm enjoying it! Just had to share my excitement!

Congrats!! That's really exciting....what a beautiful hatchling! Can't wait to see what it'll look like grown up....are there any adult pics of these guys?
 
Very cool, congrats! Is it mot, also?

I am still learning how to distinguish the different morph combos as hatchlings . . . you can tell its hypo because of the pink eyes, right?
 
I believe Rich has an adult of this morph. But good luck getting a picture! He's a busy busy busy man right now! LOL! I'll do a progression thread on this fellow.

pink eyes doesn't always mean it's hypo. It's just some hypos show up with ruby eyes.

But since it showed up with ruby eyes and there was hypo in the mix, you know its hypo . . . would you have still thought hypo charcoal lav if it was the same color only with dark eyes?

Sorry . . . I teach biology and stuff like this fascinates me (phenotypes, genotypes, genetics,etc), but I tend to pester people with questions :)
 
not a problem! I think it's hypo cause the body is real light in comparison to the charcoals in the clutch. The ruby eye color is just a feature often linked with lavenders and some hypo lines. Here's a shot of some charcoal siblings without the ruby eye. I would certainly thought hypo without the ruby eye. Good question!

Thank you for taking the time to explain that all to me . . . I also found a Charcoal lav hatchling at this link so I could compare all 3: charcoal to charcoal lav to hypo charcoal lav and can really see the difference! ;)
