Hey Holly,
As for any disabling conditions, I've come to the conclusion that everybody has at least one, but many have never been diagnosed by a professional. When faced with adversity one can let the emotions control the logic, or one can step back, really think over carefully what is being said, and then decide whether to respond, or decide to not respond at all. We all always have a choice. But sometimes we is drunk.
I guess what I'm getting at is that , for me personally, when faced with adversity, I say something to myself like "Oh well, that's just a part of their disability. Different people, different personalities. No big deal. I can listen without personally absorbing. I have a choice."
On a seperate note, a wise person once who ocassionally posts on this site once wrote me a private sentence, which went something like this: "When I see someone making an @$$ of themselves, I prefer to let them, so everyone can see what that person is like".
I understand where you are coming from, I've been there a few times myself. It's like gas. It will pass.
Thanks for bringing some spice & excitement to this site.
Cheers,
dp
