I met Noah's breeder before I met him. Mitch Allen, a wonderfully friendly Louisianna guy, took plenty of time to describe the intricasies of feeding stubborn kingsnake hatchlings to Katie. He was recommended to us as the guy to go to for...whatever they were that Katie was looking for, but he didn't have any, so he took us to see some mex mex??? that he'd spotted previously. When I passed by his table later, he pointed out this increidble rosy, with BLUE eyes. It was love at first sight. I had been bitten by the rosy bug about a year ago, when a vendor dropped an adult into my arms, but after tons of research, still couldn't pick a locality. No question here- this was the snake. I'd even vowed last fall to stop buying anything except corns. Oops. I couldn't help myself. I finally decided I couldn't live without him, and, shoot!!! Mitch doesn't take credit cards. I spent the next couple hours wandering the show dejectedly, with my helpful friends pointing out much cheaper rosies, but it just wasn't the same. He is nearly one of a kind. I may never see another one like him. I _almost_ walked out without him, but I just couldn't. You don't want to know what I did to come up with the cash...Fortunately, Katie caught me emptying the ATM, and offered to go ahead and see if she could bargain Mitch down a bit. I can't do it. I just can't. So she told him I was emptying my bank account, and would he consider $20 less? He sold me the snake for $25 off his asking price.
