Nanci hinted that I should post pics of my own Avalanches... which I hadn't done in QUITE some time. So here are some pics of Killer Frost.

Here are a few I posted in August 2008

Here are some today... forgive the SUN... So bright, but only about 80 when I took the pics. LOL.

LOL. After this picture, she pooped a BIG one on me... I knew I should have waited. :)

She's all of 270 grams... I'm hoping that I can push her over the 300 gram mark before November so she can be brumated...

Hope you enjoyed them! Thanks for looking! I'll try to get pics of Mr. Freeze a little later... AFTER he poops. :)

So, what do you think of Killer Frost, Nanci?

Great looking Avalanche, I love them. Where is the water garden?
John
In AZ??? LOL. Since I live where I work, I can't really DO a water garden... without approval. Thanks for the nice comment!

Very nice, Fred! You can tell us...that's your only shirt, right?
BWAHAHAHA!!! Nah... I also have a Green Lantern shirt!

Gorgeous one Fred! :grin01:
Thank you!!!

Just a "Q" for those who have bred corns before... Should I try to push her over the 300 gram mark... or just wait until next year?

Thanks, Danielle! I'm hoping to breed her this season with another Av... so more baby avs might be around next year! LOL.

Just don't brumate her. I'm sure she'll then be big enough by spring without pushing her. I've never brumated here in AZ because I just don't have anywhere I can keep them cool enough. They've bred just fine without it. You can't control when they're going to breed as much, and you might get smaller clutches than you would otherwise, but I've not needed tight control of clutch timing because I've just been breeding for myself, and I've not wanted huge clutches.

Thanks, Steph! I'll definitely follow your lead, then. I appreciate your advice!

BTW, where in AZ are you, generally speaking? I'm in Mesa.

Always nice to see a name of a cataclysm in a title and actually be able to smile when you see the post :santa:
Looking great

Beautiful snake, Fred. 'Diffused' does some wonderful and interesting things. That clean white belly almost looks unreal.

A gorgeous avalanche in Arizona... not something you hear everyday ;) Great looking snake!

Thanks to you both!!! I actually didn't even think of it that way. LOL. Now, you've opened my eyes and will never hear the end of it - I've got another one to take pics of. :p

Thanks, Eric. It most certainly does!!! Even while taking pics, I was "marveling". LOL.

Thank you both!

She actually is rather "drab" compared to Mr. Freeze. He's got LOTS of yellow on him. I'm getting ready to post pics of him in a few minutes.

My Avalanche male is much more colorful than my females. Usually it's hypo that makes the males stand out.

She's lovely Fred! So bright and... Frosty!

Is her name from the Merideth Gentry series? Are you a closet Laurell K. Hamilton fan? :grin01:
