My First Hatchlings!

I want to see the neck on the one that is out...Why is he not photographed and set up in a bin??

I thought I saw what I think you are interested in seeing, but look closer and you'll see that it's just a shadow making it look like the stripes are connected just behind the head, but they're not. She has a butter stripe!

Awesome! I can't wait for mine to hatch, I'm on week 7 for one clutch and week 6 for the other, now I'm going to have to check mine more often.

I know! I feel lucky.. and a bit cursed that I checked on them again. I think you will get a feeling. I had a feeling like I should check on them. The sphagnum moss is more dried out than it used to be, so I was checking on them more often anyway. I almost want to say I wish that I hadn't looked for awhile, because I can't get the little ones off my mind, and they probably would have come out faster without me checking on them so often.. but.. well it's just too exciting!

LOL seriously...i've thought about a sleeping bag & pillow on the floor the final week of expected incubation....I've already asked the boss for that week off...LOL just so i can be with them....

Now THAT is devotion! It sure is amazing to see those little heads pipping.

LOL @ Nanci! Don't encourage her! ;)

SERIOUSLY!!

Looks like things are speeding up! I had to show my boyfriend the progress when he got home from work, and there are a few more heads venturing out of their eggs!

I wonder if they'll all be Stripes?! I really want to see what little red looks like, but so far he's taking his sweet little time.

I second cmalchows statements. I have had an itching for a butter or two ;) and to think their so close to me! I don't have any stripes in my collection.... (squeal) I'm so excited for you, keep posting pics and we'll keep drooling all over our key-boards, anyone got a hand towel to spare?

It took me several years to produced a striped cornsnake and you produced one.in your first year...I'm jealous!:)..jk:)...huge congratz!

Cute little worms, interesting names. I was planning on using literary names for my clutches, but that may get far to confusing.

Ohhh this is awesome!!! Very Exciting! I didnt expect your Copperhead to be het for stripe! What an awesome looking set of babies!

PLEASE Take a picture of the group when its all done! That would be one awesome picture!!!

Parkay!

Jessica Congrats on all those pretty looking stripes! I'm really liking the head patterns! Don't forget I got dibs on one that looks like Copperhead. BTW Linda is still mad that I sold him!

Well, I think it's safe to say you can pick out your favorites and let me know! So far 4/6 that have hatched have been Stripes! For a clutch that I thought would be all Motley...
Also, I'm happy that these guys will hopefully be in demand in the Portland area and have higher chance of getting good homes soon. I seem to remember at least a few people looking around our last Portland expo for Butter Stripes, and there didn't seem to be any available. Now there will be!!

Time to wake up and check for hatchlings!!

hahah, yea I know! I stayed up extra late last night and checked on them before I went to bed and then also kept waking up during the night worrying about them!

Don't feel too bad, I had a LOT of help from John F. Without him this clutch wouldn't have been possible!

Yea, I thought about that too. Star Wars, books I like, ect..
But then I realized the massive amount of snakes I would be naming. 15 in this clutch.. how many characters from one book can I really get? Also, most of my favorite literary characters are already in my collection! When the babies were hatching I made a list of Fruits, Vegetables, Nuts and Seeds, Trees, and I was about to do flowers too. I settled on "Fruits" for these guys. They will just be temporary names anyway.. for iherp and to keep track of them and what not.

Thanks Tom!!! It's so awesome to see Copperhead finally sire a clutch, even if it just made things more confusing. Also, looks like Linda might not be so mad anymore... :dancer:
