My right to bear arms is under fire right now.

What could DHS be using all those tanks for? Not securing our borders or fighting terrorism... Excuse my tin foil hat, but sounds like preparedness for urban domestic warfare. FUD!

That would be what the military uses them for ... only in foreign countries. :noevil:

Well, I will say that it seems that a LOT of my neighbors have been practicing their shooting lately.

Maybe I should get around to mounting my new muzzle brakes to my 50 caliber rifles and sight them in. Might need to go drone hunting one of these days. :grin01:

Times are certainly troublesome, I spend just about every waking hour getting sick from what the rest of the country is spewing. trying to get my hands on a (HK 416 22LR PISTOL) before its impossible to buy them. I also purchased two 30 round mags for the ar 15 yesterday.

I think my girlfriend thinks I am crazy :(

What do you think the chances are for these bills passing?

With the idiots we have in this country that actually think that those bills will make our country safer... I say a pretty good chance....

ehh not what i want to hear, but your probably right. I am taking a sociology class right now. we were discussing how beliefs and ideology grow and evolve over time and well it seems that eventually every country will divide slowly in their beliefs. until eventually the only thing that holds the country together is economics.

makes me feel as if the will be a great divide or civil war in our country maybe not now but eventually. east coast, west coast Midwest and south all have different core beliefs

Cornbreadandmilk, besides having an awesome user name, I'm glad you are looking for a higher capacity gun for recreation before any restrictions come in place. My honest advice would be, look for quality 20+ capacity 10/22 magazines, and just buy up those now. Tactical innovations makes the best in the world, Ruger has a decent 25 round .22 lr magazine. You can build something way better than that Umarex gun for less money also. That is NOT an H&K -it is a licensed .22 knock-off by Umarex, an airsoft company. The guns will always be available, my advice (as well as what I am doing) would be to buy pre-ban magazines now.

THANKS CHIP! wow didnt know thats what uramex made. i thought however it was co-produced by them and walther? As far as the mags go i just find this hole situation awful. I have always joked about moving to get out of the states, but sadly now day the states don't seem like the states. :/ I have talked about this several times to my relatives they kinda think the worst of me. I find that truly my loyalties lies with the U.S. constitution and less with the U.S. government.("if that makes sense" ) without the constitution the U.S. is nothing.

on a side not i also considered the gsg 522 with a 110 round magazine.

however i do have several other weapons desperately needing larger or more mags

mini 14
ruger .22
p12 para ordinance

I could also deck out my ar15

on another side note, my soon to be father in law was a US ARMY sniper and currently a police officer. The other day he brought the departments m16 to the range and allowed me to have some fun with it. :) glad I get along so well with him!

That was really a life goal accomplished :)

You were right on the money Outcast. She is leading the charge to disarm veterans. :headbang:

Yup... It has nothing to do with PTSD, and everything to do with their need to control our country.

Combat veterans are force multipliers, meaning that we can train someone else how to do what I did while in combat. If it ever came to a revolutionary war scenario, we would be training the militia's, and this is what our current leadership is afraid of, which is why they are reaching so hard for veterans 2nd amendment rights to be revoked.

Go to Popvox and find the firearm bills - they're under "Crime and Law Enforcement" then under "Firearms and Explosives" - and vote your opposition to them. Your representatives in Congress will get emails telling them of your vote.

Then go to http://www.congress.org/news/ and select both categories on the right to " Write All Your Federal Officials" and "Write All Your State Officials". It'll do what those suggest, and you can write whatever you like telling your congress-critters whatever you want. They'll send off emails to them for you.

Just posted this on my FB page and it got some good reviews.

There are 3 types of people in this world, Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs. I am a Sheepdog, I do what I can to protect the sheep (those unwilling or unable to defend themselves) against wolves.... Wolves are people who want to take everything from you, your life, liberty, happiness, rights, etc. I have taken an oath to protect the people of the United States of America from all enemies of our constitution, foreign and domestic. I choose to do so in a nonviolent manner, by showing those who can see my page what is happening to our rights. Some do not agree with me, and want more restrictions, others do agree with me. Don't worry, I served in battle so you could have an opinion.
But, I see our government being infiltrated by nothing but wolves, and they are beginning to feed upon the sheep that voted them into office. It is time to stand up for our rights people. The sheep need to take a stand for themselves, because the sheepdogs are slowly being removed, and being labeled as terrorists. Because we stand up for your rights, we are being cast in a light that makes us look crazy, and that is how the wolves want it.
For when you remove the sheepdogs, the wolves will come to feast.

Haha! I didn't even realize that was you! What a great analogy!

For some reason, there was no "share" button. I may copy and paste it anyway. I was thinking of posting here, too - but you beat me to it!

Go ahead Kathy. Get the word out. More people need it shoved in their faces, maybe it will help remove the wool from their eyes.

I heard something about sheep, wolves, and Sheepdogs when I was in the military. I couldn't remember it so I made up an analogy of my own...LOL...

So, Practiced my 2nd Amendment Right over the weekend and went and bought a Henry Repeating Arms Lever action .22. I wish I could have afforded the Military tribute rifle. But 1200 is way to rich for my blood. Not to mention, I want a gun that I feel safe shooting. I dont want to damage something as pretty as the military tribute.

Next rifle I get will be one large enough to take down Elk and Oryx. I am currently waiting on someone to respond to me about what they use. I am looking for a semi-auto, but will settle for a bolt action, as long as I can change the furniture out for something a little more tacticle. Like a pistol grip, tripod, rails, and collapsable stock. This way I can pretty much zero the entire rifle to my personal shooting style, instead of adapting myself to the rifle.

Having been formally trained on the AR platforms and M-4. I tend to stick with what I most practiced, which is hard for me to do with a normal hunting stock.

I really hope to save up for a Dragunov... That is a semi-auto sniper that I have wanted for a long time...LOL

Sounds like you need an AR-10.
