Need good thoughts/wishes/prayers - UPDATED

ArpeggioAngel

Around Here Somewhere....
As many of you know, I had to put my 18yr old kitty to sleep last month. I got a new kitten shortly after.

Her best friend is our other cat Gabriel. They play together all the time.

Today, I have to take Gabriel to the vet. I do not know what is wrong with him. The last week or so he has become very lethargic and it has been getting progressively worse. At first I thought maybe he just pulled a muscle or something playing with the kitten, but as time has gone on, he has not bounced back. At this point, he is just laying in my bed....won't get up at all...and stopped eating yesterday. Today he won't even pick up his head. Just opens his eyes and looks at me when I go to check on him. Needless to say, I am worried sick about him.

So please, any good thoughts, wishes, prayers would be greatly appreciated right now.

Many thoughts, prayers and blessings heading down south to you, my friend. I know what you're feeling, and it's crushing to think that such a dear person has to go through this so soon after your most recent loss. We're all here for you, Katie. (((((Katie)))))

I lost my cat, Alimoe, last October and he was my best buddy, so I know how you must feel. My prayers are with you and Gabriel, and remember to keep your head up. Cat's are strong, especially when their loved like you love him, so have faith and stay strong. Your doing the best you can!.

Oh Katie, I hope everything turns out OK. I don't think I can bear to read about anymore people losing their beloved pets.

I hope everything went well at the vet.

*hugs* I wonder though, is there a possiblity that Gabriel is missing your old kitty?

Best of luck to you, I've got you in my thoughts.

Back from the vet...
Gabriel is going to be OK! Thank God!
His temperature was so high that the vet said if I had waited any longer he would probably have died.
It was so high - and no outward signs of any infection (no runny nose or eyes or throwing up or anything) that he thought he might have Feline Aids or Feline Leukemia. We ran the tests and thankfully he was negative for both.

He took more blood to run more tests and find out what exactly is causing the "infection" - viral or bacteria - and will know more tomorrow. Gave him a general antibiotic shot and some fluids for today - and that already is making him a bit perkier than he has been for the past week.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and wishes!
