It's Jager time!
Disco Devil Worm just basking with a full belly in his very own psychedelic slice of the 70's.

Uh oh, woke the beast up!

Thanks Nanci! He is usually very sweet. I think he was just mooching for more food when he coiled up as I was still feeding snakes but I saw him perched perfectly and had to snap him quickly :p

Love it! Forgive me, I'm not that familiar with them, is he a calico?

No he is just a funky orange/red/olive thingie. He was screaming bright red/orange as a baby. All the olive bands and flecks have come in over the years. You never know what you will get with amazons :)

Did he drink the punch? Uh oh.

(lol) But it is soooo pretty- both he and the background!

*sigh* still one of my favorite snakes period, your darling Devil Worm... I like the surprising ones.

He's turned out very pretty Elle! They always have such interesting markings. I have a male that's similar in coloration to him.....Ember is due to drop a litter in a couple of months....pretty babies about to be born!

I'll post when they are born. Hopefully we'll have another nice litter. I paired her up with Katari a couple of years ago and only had a few babies that didn't live. Obviously not a good pairing for the two but it could have been that Katari was a first time dad. I'll try pairing him with Hope sometime although I want to pair Skittles with her more. We'll see what the future holds! I've got Green tree python eggs about to be laid (I hope) so that will be enough to contend with! Wish you were closer Elle.....I have a couple of females who would love to meet your boy!

Oh sounds like you have your hands full! Who is mummy chondro?

And which boy? Devil Worm or Cyan? Or both? Hahahaha. I hope to cycle Siren early next year. She needs to beef up a bit first. I suppose thats the great thing about living in Scotland, it's cold enough to drop night time temps for cycling ANY time of the year for the chondros :p

Tempest my favorite girl is the chondro momma. I bred her to Whisper, my Jayapura that I also got from Troy Frantz. I don't think they'd care who you paired them with! The girls can sometimes be finicky but not that much. I don't cycle at too low a temp. Just enough to let them know it's "winter" but not low enough to have them get RI's...I'm paranoid.

Did you read in the complete chondro about someone cycling their chondros in the same room with black heads, allowing the snakes to get down into the 50's and there were no RI's to be had. I think they are much hardier than we give them credit for...

Of course I read the complete chondro! And while I know they do it all the time, there are plenty of incidences on the forums of chondros developing RI's while cycling. I think as long as there is some drop in temp, they'll breed....mine have and I only drop them down to about 72

Oh, and while I agree they can be much hardier than people think...I've had enough drop dead on me to know that they aren't too.....I'm not courting disaster if I can avoid it.
