One man's trash...

Ophidiophile.
...is another man's treasure. I found this little cutie in a Dumpster over a week ago when stopped at a gas station. I have no doubts that someone threw this kitten in there, as the most accessible point was 2 1/2 feet off the ground, and as nimble as cats are, I don't think this little 1 lb. ball of fluff could've made the leap. I looked around for siblings or a mom, but nothing. So, I decided to take him home and make him mine. He's pretty clingy right now, but is becoming more comfortable and adventurous every day.

I'm very happy to have this little guy in my life. I've named him Finnegan (Irish/Gaelic for "fair"), for his blue eyes, creamy coat and little orange points.

Slowly getting weight on this little boy, as he was literally skin and bones when I first got him. He ate like it was going out of style the first time I offered him canned. I can't wait to see this kid grow into a handsome adult. Thanks for viewing!

awwww... Lucky little flame point to have found you. :hugs: Thankyou so much for taking care of him!

Before too much longer I recommend you take him to a vet to get him tested for FIV/FeLV though, and to get him dewormed.

Oh my goodness! What an adorable baby and HUGE kudos to you for rescuing him and making him yours! I just don't understand how people can do that to animals. It makes me sad and sick to my stomach at the same time. Can't wait to see how he grows up!!

Oh wow, he's gorgeous!!! I rescued a kitten once, and it is so satisfying to see them grow up to be fat and sassy. My (now) cat has a serious attitude problem, but considering the state she was in when I found her as a tiny >1lb furball, its just good to see her healthy.

Wow. I don't get why people think they can throw animals in the trash. Look at that rosy boa YellowBellyHippy got, that someone just threw out, viv and all.

Good save!

Thanks everyone! I'm glad I'm able to keep him. I've been fostering for years, but decided this one had to be just mine.

And no worries. I took him to the vet ASAP. He's already had Round 1, but won't be tested until his Round 2 set of vaccines.

Good! I'm glad this critter found himself such a good mommy. :3 Of course, I now demand weekly picture updates. :p

Wow, the lack of compassion some people show is truely disturbing. Sounds like this little guy has another chance now because of you.

Oh what a little cutie-pie! I'm so glad he's got a second chance at life, he's lucky you found him.

It really tears my heart out that people are so cruel!!!! Thank you so much for saving that cute little guy!!! You will be rewarded as you know.

OMG kitten! :) I love kittens.
Your little Finnegan is a little close in looks to my big, fat Clarence when he was a widdle one. He was a rescue before I got him, in fact all three cats I've had have been rescues. I wanted to name him Pumpkin because of the orange but he reminded my dad of Clarence the Cross-eyed Lion. Kudos to you for finding him and taking him in!

As a preview of what you might be able to expect your little baby to grow up to be, here is the fat man today.

What a cutie pie!! my sister has a little kitty who was found in a dumpster, He's the sweetest, (also the dumbest) most lovable kitty I've ever met.

Again, thank you all for your kind words! I honestly couldn't believe someone would throw this, or any animal for that matter, out. I mean, they could've driven 10 minutes to either the shelter we have here or the Vet School which would take them under their Good Samaritan Services. It's very heartbreaking.

I realize, after having him for this short time, that his personality is a bit...overwhelming. He would repeatedly attempt to climb your leg all the way to your shoulder, cries constantly when not being touched, and has no fear. Or any distaste for getting wet. xD But I just simply clipped his nails and that solved so many problems. Not the crying, however. He gets especially vocal when I shower and insists on being in the tub with me. No fear of water! His talking is probably just the Siamese in him.

And no worries, I'm sure ya'll will see enough of him to make you sick! ;P
