Pink, Black and White

Go Ahead, Make My Day!
I can't get as perfect of a macro shot as some, but I love the color of this guy so much that I did the best I could. He is freshly shed in these.

That's that cinder boy (I guess we should call him Ashy!!) she got from Rich, right, with her partner???

Now that's a case where the name of the morph is exactly right for that particular snake! (Ashy, ember or cinder, all work for that combination of colour and pattern!)

Yes, it's the ashy/cinder male from Rich. I can only hope that my '08 male grows up to be as beautiful!

I love how Ashy Sr. almost blends into the tree!! Now if you could only find one of the trees that has those pinkish lichens growing on it, that would be perfect for him! I'm not saying you don't take amazing photographs, Susan, but can you imagine what Robbie could do with that snake, with his macro lens???

Oh, I have the tree with the pink lichen. Just haven't put him on it yet. And yeah, Robbie could do some awesome things with his macro lens and Duke, hence my initial comment. ;)

So... your sending him to me to borrow this breeding season so I can get some macros, right? :D He's absolutely GORGEOUS! And you did a fantastic job with your shots!

I always enjoy your outdoor shoots. The settings are so apt to show off how lovely the snakes are.

Yeah...right...;) This fellow isn't even technically mine yet, so he needs to breed as many females as I can pair him with so I can fulfill the payment plan of the bargain as quickly as possible!

If your camera has threads for filters, screw on macro filter lenses will do just fine for closeup shots. That's what I use on my camcorders for videos of the baby snakes. I would suggest that you get a larger filter then your actual thread dimensions on the front of the camera and get a step up ring. This will prevent vignetting if you have to gang a couple of closeup filters for extreme closeups.

Considering that most of what you posted is "Greek" to me...um...yeah. The camera I've been using lately is basically an idiot-proof "point and shoot" (Kodak EasyShare Z740). Nothing unscrews in the lens area and I don't mess with manual settings as I have little clue to what it all means. I have another camera that has the potential to do more fancy stuff...if I can afford a macro lens, and then have the time to learn how to do the manual settings, etc.
