Post pics of your "snake room"!

And you've found it to be escape-proof? They seem a little bit looser than I expected, but the guy from RB swore there had never been any escapes of hatchling corns.

So far I have had one escape from the rack and it was my fault. I purchased a 50/50 Cal King and I drilled the holes in the bin too big. The little fella forced his way out through the hole. He was lost for a few days. We finally found him and placed him in a different bin in the same rack. He has never gotten out again.

He didn't have a name when this happened. After we got him back we called him "Scout" since he scouted out the house.

Oh man that would be my worst nightmare ):

Other peoples set ups are so impressive!
I wish I had time and money to go crazy on a lot of snakes. Its hard enough to go on vacation without worrying about these 3! How much do you all think that impacts your heating and cooling in your home? That looks like it could get toasty after a while.

Here's my "room" its actually just my living room next to our sofa so we can watch them, them us, and the people across our apartment complex can see them through our windows. The red glow at night im sure makes it look like we've got a meth lab going on in here.

My collection is far smaller than most peoples' here but still! a collection it is :)

Thumbs up for small but still awesome, and color change led's from Ikea <3

Great set-up! Very clean looking. If I had room in the living room, I'd display a couple even though tanks are a PITA to clean. :D

Always MELT holes in your tubs/bins with a soldering iron, clean and small. :D

My RBI rack seems a little loose too, but just hatched babies can't get out.

Here's a new picture of mine now that the snakes have been distributed as in my first post! I still have some holes to melt...

Looks awesome Nanci. I like all the big fancy bowls your guys get. I need to find a way to set ONE of my snakes up like that in the living room or something. I could rotate the occupant occasionally to change the decor. :D

The big bowls are nice because the snakes can get in if they feel like it. They are an easy way to keep the bowls with the snakes they belong to. The snakes love to burrow under them, but they are too heavy to tip. The major thing, though, is they are a nice safety measure. If something happens and it gets too hot, the snakes have plenty of water to drink, or get into to stay cool.

Here's a picture of Pepper from this spring. He because fascinated with his water bowl for several days- he's never done this before or since. Interestingly, it was at a time when he was breeding...

Well, corns are like Pokemon, gotta catch 'em all!

But I'm a hobbyist breeder, I make enough money selling hatchlings to pay for mice for my adults and maybe pick up a snake or two a year.

Pepper is an awesome snake, I need one of his stripey-snow babies one day. :D

Same here, Luckily I have a good friend who is a "bigger fish" in the hobby.. I sell him everything wholesale, right out of egg. This keeps me from having to set up each hatchling individually and maintaining them til I can sell them.
Some of the nicer stuff that I hatch out i sell at some local reptile shows with him. It is a system that works well for me, lets me enjoy the hobby, pays for the mice.. and keeps me from getting burnt out. Not to mention some of the real nice stuff he hatches out and throws my way for no cost! :crazy02:
