I just saw this thread - somehow missed it until now.
Yes, it is just semantics. Some people prefer one word over another. To me, "classic" has just come to mean an unusually pretty normal corn that is not a specific bloodline type, such as Okeetee or Miami. When I look at a bunch of babies (whether my own, or from friends), I will often pick out the ones I think will be the prettiest normals, label them as classics, and price them a little higher than "just normals". That helps my pet customers pick out the prettiest ones for a pet (most beginners can't really make a good guess as to which will be prettiest), and my "resale" (for shops, etc) customers to pick out the cheapest ones.
But of course, different breeders may use the terms interchangeably, or differently than I do.
