Woke up this morning to find my gravid female cinder het amel that was bred by my amel het cinder tessera dead in her bin. I cant believe it. She showed no signs of anything wrong. She had shed 13 days ago so I figured I would see a nice clutch this morning, instead I found 2 slugs and her dead. I am guessing without me realizing it she was eggbound, but it everything seemed fine, it wasnt at a point I was worried that she hadnt laid the eggs yet. She was active, she had ate fine before going into a shed. She has been anything but leading me to believe there was a problem. So much for the peppermint tessera I was planning on seeing. Sometimes breeding sucks.

I am so sorry for your losses. Life is not always fair to us, and I am sorry we didn't get to see the babies.

Man, if I only had a dime for every time I had similar disappointments over the years..... :shrugs: All you can do is keep on slugging and hope some brighter days will make up for the disappointments and heartbreaks.

Oh no! That's terrible. The only thing I could do to help is loan you Chipmunk, normal stripe heterozygous hypo amel cinder, if you like. I _know_ how much you were looking forward to that clutch... Email me if you'd like to do that nlevake at gmail

What a great community here .... a member laments over the loss of her snake and someone immediately steps up to try to help her get the hets she was looking for. We need more examples of stuff like this happening, good for you Nanci. : )
