• Hello!

Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.

Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....

Please be certain that the location field is correctly filled out when you register. All registrations that appear to be bogus will be rejected. Which means that if your location field does NOT match the actual location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected.

Sorry about the strictness of this requirement, but it is necessary to block spammers and scammers at the door as much as possible.

Signature Pictures...

I'm not that computer savvy and am having trouble figuring out how to get my image linked to my website so I can eliminate the other part from my signature. I see a few of you have been able to do it so would someone please give us some step by step instructions for dummies?
Susan,
The only way I know how to do it is by using HTML but we can't use that. I would like to know as well....please help.....anyone.
Also, just an observation, I think the "signature banners" should be limited to a certain size. Our avatars are restricted to being a certain size and I feel the banners should be as well. This way it just keeps things more uniforn and takes up less space. JMO. :shrugs:

Susan, you want to set your image in the main code box, rather than the separate image section below, and just enclose it in the url tags.

Try pasting this code (change curly brackets to square brackets and put it all on one long line) in your signature...

Thanks for adding this feature, Rich! It really helps make the place more "colorful"!!

There is a size limit set to the signature images. I copied this directly from where you edit your signature:

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

Thank you very much Susan. I didn't notice that. :crazy02:

Toya, the code you posted works perfect. Thank you very much for showing us that. I think this is a great feature for us to have.

Glad it worked, and more importantly I'm glad I remembered to remove the giant test image I had in my siggy before a moderator gave me a warning for it

The maximum image size isn't something the forum will "police" (for want of a better word) automatically - like the four line signature limit, it's something that will rely on people just being sensible with it...

That depends. If you upload it directly to the server, it WILL police the size based on both L X W and file size.

However...if you are using BBcode and an off-site image link...it is up to us.

But then again...we have always had the ability to use UBB code and link to off-site images in our signatures. It was just requested that we NOT do that...and nobody did. Hopefully...everyone will adhere to the size guidelines so we don't have this excellent new feature taken away from us...
