switching to tubs?

I'm considering moving all my snakes to tubs except maybe one corn which will stay in the 20L as more of a "display" snake. I think what I have now for Chester is a little small, its a 64qt but it is more tall than wide, and he doesnt climb. I was just trying to remember his size when I bought it, and its ok for temporary I guess until I can switch. what size tubs would you suggest for adult corns? is there anything I should be warned about concerning using tubs? I will make sure all the lids lock securely of course, and I have clips for any loose sides.

28/32qt is fine as are the larger 41 qt ones for adults. Sub-adults can be kept in the 12/15 qt tubs and hatchlings you'd want to make sure that the tub is VERY secure before even thinking of keeping one in it.

I did get a few smaller sterilites that are 15qt, since they were on sale at the time, and I'm pretty sure they are close to air-tight. I spent 15 minutes poking and prodding the edges, making sure there was no possible way for ANYTHING to escape it, so those are safe I think.

what about fumes? I noticed the smaller tubs giving off a weird smell when I opened them, would washing them out thoroughly get rid of that, or should I replace them?

I am going to be building a rack for my snakes in the next few months (buying slowly since my snakes are still small). I found some 58 qt. Iris online with Ace Hardware - 5 for $90, free shipping if you have it shipped to an Ace nearby.

I was going to go with some 41 qt, but wanted to get as large a tub as I could find. They aren't cheap, which is another reason I am buying in stages. Next month I will buy the wood, then the following month Flexwatt and Thermostat.

Lots of people use 28 or 31 qt, which are about half as much money. I figure on getting a Gopher in the future, so i wanted something larger. I will keep a few hatchling tubs and a couple of 31 qts as well for smaller kings and a Hognose I want.

I use a setrilite tub for one of my snakes - it's SO much easier to clean than the glass aquariums, but it doesn't look as nice so I'm upgrading.

If the plastic lid gives in the middle, i mean if you can get your fingers between the lid and tub even when it's shut, you should get a luggage strap at the dollar store to hold it shut.

I just put big heavy books on top of mine. There's a French dictionary on my baby boas tub, an English dictionary on a corn tub, other reference books on the other tubs, just all kinds of fun books!

I have my guys in 66 qt Sterilite. I wasn't a fan of racks until I discovered this size.
