The Crazy Bunch - Ghost Bloodred, Coral Snow Bloodred

What a beautiful clutch! Even my non-snake-loving coworkers (who never the less have to look when I spot a good-looking snake) say that even though they don't care for snakes, the "pink one" is very pretty!

LOL Nanci,

Work on that one... that's what started me down the slippery slope... only it was the lovely male ghost in Kathy's first book :)

Thank you Nanci...........the pink one is very pretty, the pride of my breeding project hatchlings for 2006.

The 'keeper' Ghost Bloodred shows more diffusion on her laterals than the 'pink one', but, I find that when the Amelanistic gene is in the mix often the diffusion is not so strong as that when the single trait of Anerythiristic is involved.

Never-the-less, you will not hear me complain of any hatchling in this clutch!

I looked back at the first pic and you are so right! Usually ghosts get lighter... right?

Usually, however, these pics were not taken in the same conditions as the 1st & that may have some influence on the comparision photo's. However, the Ghost female does seem to have darkened considerably, her saddles show a more definative border than her previous pics.

hi lexcorn,
i would like to see a photo update of your keepers. Especially from the coral Avalanche! Do you think this is possible? ;-)

Greetings

Hi there,

Yes, I have taken some photo's of the twosome a couple of day ago........ had not got around to posting them.

Here is the Ghost Bloodred female, now 4 months of age......such a beauty.

And, as requested, the Coral Avalanche.

WOW! The pinks have really come in on them! I especially love the ghost bloodred...her head pattern and colors are striking!

WOW! I really like that Coral Avalanche! I was wondering if anyone ever headed down the path for that project... very nice looking animal indeed

I love how much lighter the ghost blood is! And the head pattern is just awesome.

Stunning keepers Lex!

BTW I don't know if you would be interested but heres the little male fire Toyah got off you some time ago. I just photographed it ;) Hes looking good but as you say amel in the mix doesnt seem to diffuse as nicley. I suppose it just needs to be selectivley bred like the bloods have been to improve it!

The coral avalanche is beautiful - that one will just get better and better.

I must get some new photos of the coral snow het blood I got from you, Lex. She was slow to start but is growing beautifully now ... not as perfectly pink as her sister though :)

Cheers Susan, the Ghost Bloodred appeals because of her obvious diffusion & striking colouration. Did you notice that both siblings have the same interesting head markings?

Really nice. The pink in both of them is awesome! But the head on the snow is wicked. Very nice.

Hey there Marcel...........yup, the 'guys' are coming along nicely. Good description of the boy, if you look at him up-side-down his head pattern shows 'Casper the friendly Ghost'.........do you know of this character?

Your quality animals just shine through! Can't wait to see what you produce this year

Lil Thank you, your compliments are most appreciated........we have a number of new & interesting pairings 'lined up' for 2007.

Lore - The original plan was to prove out the Ghost parents (i.e. if they had inherited the Bloodred gene). I did not dare hope that they had, also, inherited the Amelanistic trait to complete the production of the Coral Avalanche..............the repeat mating is eagerly awaited!

Toyah & Tula - Thanks for the congrats on the 'guys'. Yes, the Coral Avalanche is becoming more pink, however, I have noticed that the white area (particularly on his head) is, also, battling for supremacy...........it's almost a stark white..........makes one wonder which colour will win in the end!

B.T.W. Junior 'Fire' is looking a handsome devil in his photocall.............for an up date, his sister can be seen in this thread:Fire.co.uk

*drools* The coral avalanche is beautiful. I just added yet another snake to my list of stuff to buy when the divorce is final. Congrats on hatching it out, it's awesome.

Ha, ha...........you've got to laugh :crazy02: I guess that's the way to go forward!

Very interesting proposal Michael...........there were a few serious enquiries in 2006 & limited hatchlings entailed a 'Waiting List' for 2007, from which there are some very committed intentions, so, we shall see how the numbers add up.

The clutch should be larger this year (lady more mature) &, perhaps, Ghost Bloods & Coral Avalanches in greater supply (I hope) :grin01:

A P.M. is in order!
