What are you thankful for

Okay since tomorrow is thanksgiving for us in the states, not sure if you all celebrate it across the pond. I thought it would be nice if everyone shared what they are thankful for this year, whether you celebrate it or not. So here it goes:

I am thankful for my wife, my family, my legless babies and even the four legged ones. I am thankful that i have a job, even though i like to gripe about it. Most of all i am thankful for the men and women that put their lives on the line to protect us, from the military to the police and fire department.

i am thankful for my health, my husband, his new job, the critters i hatched out healthy this year... my friends and family (i suppose-long story)....as well as the men and women putting their lives on the line for our future!!! one of my friends just came back a few days ago from iraq and i'm glad he's home!!!!

"Across the pond" people would NOT be celebrating Thanksgiving.

To answer the question, I'm thankful for my health and my family.

I'm very thankful for my family and my job. As some of you know I am still up in the air about my job but as of right now am very thankful to have one and am able to still provide for my kids.

I'm thankful for my family both alive and those that have passed before me. I never realized the wonderful messages and lessons my mother taught me until I had my own children. As hard as I made it for her at times, she did a good job! I hope I can raise mine half as well.

I'm also extremely thankful for second chances.

LOL! Ah well, we all have things in life to be thankful for, even if the original cause of the Stateside thankfulness might be lost on us Brits!

I'm thankful that we have a centrally-funded health service now that my Mum has cancer. Heaven knows, none of the family could afford the private insurance that we'd need to cover her drugs, treatments and repeated tests.

I'm thankful that my friends - who've been having such a rough time in so many ways over the past few months - are starting to recover and feel a bit happier.

I'm thankful that my major life change (from well-paid IT career to full-time university student) is working so well and that I'm loving my new "day job".

Canada had thanksgiving a while ago - it was always my favorite holiday because the whole family got together and you didn't have to buy presents for anyone, or pretend you like the stuff other people got you. It was just all about food and hanging out....I'd still sit at the kiddy table if it was up to me! I live on the other side of Canada now though, I have thanksgiving with my friend who adopts me for the holidays, lol. Only down side is she makes me do the polar bear dip with her.

Actually, that sums up what I'm thankfull for. And microbrews (Granville Isl winter ale! Glee!)

I'm thankful for the fact that I continue to have a job in today's crap economy; a house that is not in any way, shape or form under risk of foreclosure; healthy pets; kind, generous friends & family; and a currently healthy baby growing steadily who is on the way (and a decent pregnancy thus far, as well!)!

Oh, and I'm thankful for my hairdresser, too. Alex is amazing & while I don't take the best care of his handiwork, he does an amazing job & I have such an amazingly fun time talking with him while in his chair!

I'm thankful for my kids, family and all my critters. I very thankful that my husband is still doing fine over seas and only has 11 months until he comes home. I am also thankful that, for the time being, I am not totally insane yet. Or am I?

I'm thankful for my health and that of my animals and family. Thankful my daughter is happy. And has a reliable car. Thankful that everything that broke in my house this year was fixed or replaced. Except the lawnmower, but I don't want to think about that. Thankful I have a steady job, where I can get plenty of OT. Thankful I can help out others here and there. Thankful my truck is running and will be paid off in less than a year. Thankful for all my friends here, those who I know in real life and those I don't. Someday I hope to! Thankful for being able to construct cool things in my yard. Thankful for a couple luxuries this year- the little wine refrigerator and that blasted Mini... Thankful for my new animals: Pepper, Ruby, Calli, Janine and Jewel (thank you, Mike) Noah the BOA!!! and little El Wray. Thankful that Isabel really wasn't sick on July 4th, even though it cost a small fortune to prove that. Thankful that I was able to refinance my house to a 15 year mortgage. Thankful I live where I do, despite the hurricanes. Thankful no natural disasters affected me this year. I'm sure there is a lot more.

I'm thankful first and foremost to have two more or less recession proof jobs and a (mostly) affordable mortgage in a nice neighborhood. I'm thankful for my health and that of my friends and family, especially my three remaining grandparents who are approaching 80! I am thankful to have a peaceful little animal kingdom to come home to at night, for my dog and cat, who love each other's company.

And I'm thankful to be at the point of starting a new relationship that is showing how much better and brighter life can be when you're with someone who really "gets" you.

(In keeping with the last, I am also thankful to OPEC for the lowered gas prices that allow me to get down to VA that much more!)

Major Ditto to the gas prices! HA! And the new relationship.. that is definatly something to be thankful for...because the world is nicer when you have someone to share things with. Particularly someone who you connect so well with.

I am also thankful for my beloved pets, my wonderful house with it's multicolored walls that I love anyway, for my friends and family, and for the wonderful internet that brings me so much joy.
And gosh...lots more but I can't type it all.

I'm thankful for my almost-perfect non-snake-loving husband, my family and friends (both irl and online), thankful for the health of my family and myself, my job that features long hours and horrible wages that is very secure anyhow...thankful for my house that can't be foreclosed...and very thankful for my animals that keep me sane.
And this year, I am VERY thankful for "Ms Anon", and Rob and Louise Stevens, who sent me 2 incredibly special gifts, Beelzebub and Bijou, and helped me mend my broken heart....
